ՀՀ ԱԺ արտաքին հարաբերությունների մշտական հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Արմեն Աշոտյանը, հանձնաժողովի անդամներ Շիրակ Թորոսյանը, Արայիկ Աղաբաբյանը եւ Արտակ Զեյնալյանը նոյեմբերի 3-ին ընդունել են Իրաքի Հանրապետության խորհրդարանի Ներկայացուցիչների խորհրդի ներկայացուցչական պատվիրակությանը՝ արտաքին հարաբերությունների հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Աբդելբարի ալ Զիբարիի գլխավորությամբ: Այս մասին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ ԱԺ հանրային կապերի վարչությունից։

Հաղորդագրության մեջ նաև նշված է. «Ողջունելով հյուրերին ՀՀ Ազգային ժողովում` Արմեն Աշոտյանը շնորհակալություն է հայտնել Իրաքի Հանրապետության խորհրդարանի գործընկեր պատվիրակությանը` հանձնաժողովի` Հայաստան այցելելու հրավերն ընդունելու համար:

Արմեն Աշոտյանը կարեւորել է Հայաստանի եւ Իրաքի միջեւ բարեկամական կապերի զարգացումը եւ նշել, որ բացի մշակութային կապերից երկու ժողովուրդներին միավորում են նաեւ տնտեսական, քաղաքական եւ հումանիտար համագործակցությանը վերաբերող բազմաթիվ հեռանկարները:

Արմեն Աշոտյանը նշել է նաեւ, որ Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունն արտաքին քաղաքականության գերակայությունների շրջանակում մեծապես կարեւորում է հարաբերությունների զարգացումը Մերձավոր Արեւելքի երկրների, այդ թվում նաեւ Իրաքի Հանրապետության հետ: Այս համատեքստում նա անդրադարձել է Հայաստանի եւ Իրաքի ժողովուրդների միջեւ առկա պատմական ամուր բարեկամությանը, որը մեկ անգամ եւս ընդգծում է այն իրողությունը, որ տարածաշրջանում չկան կրոնական խնդիրներ:

Հանձնաժողովի նախագահը կարեւորել է երկու խորհրդարանների արտաքին հարաբերությունների հանձնաժողովների սերտ համագործակցությունը եւ նշել, որ հանձնաժողովները կարող են գործուն ներդրում ունենալ միջխորհրդարանական կապերի զարգացման գործում: Այս համատեսքստում բարձր է գնահատվել նաեւ միջխորհրդարանական բարեկամության խմբերի դերն ու ակտիվ գործունեությունը:

Անդրադառնալով տարածաշրջանային խնդիրներին՝ Արմեն Աշոտյանը կարեւորել է ԴԱԻՇ-ի դեմ պայքարում Իրաքի ժողովրդի տարած հաղթանակը եւ նշել, որ ծայրահեղականության դեմ պայքարը հանդիսանում է երկու պետությունների արտաքին քաղաքականության կարեւորագույն գերակայություններից մեկը:

Իրաքի Հանրապետության խորհրդարանի արտաքին հարաբերությունների հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Աբդելբարի ալ-Զիբարին շնորհակալություն է հայտնել հայկական կողմին հրավերի համար եւ նշել, որ հայ-իրաքյան հարաբերություններն ունեն զարգացման մեծ ներուժ: Նա կարեւորել է տնտեսական, քաղաքական եւ հումանիտար ոլորներտում համագործակցության հնարավորությունները:

Կողմերն անդրադարձել են նաեւ զբոսաշրջության ոլորտում զարգացման հեռանկարներին, երկու պետությունների միջեւ կանոնավոր չվերթեր ունենալու անհրաժեշտությանը:

Հանդիպման ավարտին Իրաքի Հանրապետության խորհրդարանի արտաքին հարաբերությունների հանձնաժողովի նախագահը ցանկություն է հայտնել Իրաքում հյուրընկալելու ՀՀ ԱԺ արտաքին հարաբերությունների մշտական հանձնաժողովի պատվիրակությանը, ինչն Արմեն Աշոտյանը սիրով ընդունել է»:
