Իտալիայի ֆուտբոլի ազգային թիմի դարպասապահ Ջանլուիջի Բուֆոնն ավարտեց կարիերան ազգային ընտրանու կազմում:

«Ես չեմ ափսոսում ինձ համար, ափսոսում եմ ամբողջ իտալական ֆուտբոլի համար: Պարզապես անցումային խաղում չէ, որ մենք պարտվեցինք, մենք տանուլ տվեցինք ինչ-որ կարևոր բան մեր երկրի համար: Պարտվեցինք մի այլ մակարդակում` սոցիալական մակարդակում: Ցավում եմ, որ այս կերպ եմ ավարտում կարիերաս ազգային հավաքականի կազմում, բայց մի կաթիլ անգամ չեմ ափսոսում անցած ժամանակի համար: Ուզում եմ իմ շնորհակալությունը հայտնել բոլորիդ, նրանց, ովքեր կողքիս էին և կիսեցին այս զարմանահրաշ ճանապարհորդությունը»,-«Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ` ասել է Բուֆոնը:

Ջանլուիջի Բուֆոնը 2001 թվականից ի վեր Թուրինի «Յուվենտուս»-ի անփոխարինելի դարպասապահն է: «Ծեր սինյորա»-ի կազմում Բուֆոնը դարձել է Իտալիայի 10-ակի չեմպիոն: Իտալիայի ֆուտբոլի ազգային թիմի կազմում վերջինս անցկացրել է 175 խաղ՝ 1997 թվականից սկսած: 2006 թվականին Իտալիայի հավաքականի կազմում Բուֆոնը դարձավ աշխարհի չեմպիոն, իսկ 2012 թվականին՝ Եվրոպայի առաջնության արծաթե մեդալակիր: Իտալացին երեք անգամ` 2003, 2015 և 2017 թվականներին, հանդես է եկել Չեմպիոնների լիգայի եզրափակիչում, սակայն ոչ մի անգամ չի շահել այն:

2017 թվականին Բուֆոնը ՖԻՖԱ-ի կողմից ճանաչվեց տարվա լավագույն դարպասապահ:
