Ահաբեկչության դեմ պայքարում անհնար է հաջողության հասնել առանց մարդու իրավունքների պահպանման: Այս մասին հայտարարել է ՄԱԿ գլխավոր քարտուղար Անտոնիու Գուտերեշը՝ ելույթ ունենալով Լոնդոնի համալսարանում:

Նրա խոսքով՝ այսօր ահաբեկչությունը նոր ձեւեր եւ ավելի լայն չափեր է ընդունել ու «աննախադեպ սպառնալիք է ներկայացնում, միջազգային աշխարհին, անվտանգությանը եւ զարգացմանը»:

Միայն անցյալ տարի ավելի քան 100 երկրում իրականացվել է ընդհանուր առմամբ 11 հազար ահաբեկչություն, որոնց հետեւանքով զոհվել է 25 հազար մարդ: Նա կոչ է արել չմոռանալ, որ ահաբեկչությունների մեծ մասն իրականացվում է զարգացող երկրներում: Ըստ որում՝ Գուտերեշը հատուկ շեշտել է, որ չի կարելի ահաբեկչությունը կապել որեւէ կրոնի, ազգության կամ էթիկական խմբի հետ: Նրա խոսքով՝ ահաբեկչությունը ծաղկում է այնտեղ, որտեղ արհամարհում են հասարակության իրավազուրկ քաղաքացիներին:

Նա ընդգծել է, որ ահաբեկչությունն, ըստ էության, ոտնձգություն է մարդու իավունքների նկատմամբ: Դրա դեմ պայքարը երբեք հաջողությամբ չի պսակվի, եթե այն նույնպես ուղեկցվի մարդու իրավունքների խախտումներով:

Նա կոչ է արել չբավարարվել միայն ահաբեկիչների նկատմամբ ռազմական հաղթանակներով: Ըստ տեղեկությունների՝ «նորադարձ ահաբեկիչների» գերակշիռ մեծամասնությունը 17-ից մինչեւ 24 տարեկան երիտասարդներ են՝ ներառյալ աղջիկներ:

Այս պատճառով ծայրահեղականության դեմ եւս մեկ «մարտադաշտը» գաղափարների պայքարն է, առաջին հերթին՝ համացանցում: Գուտերեշի կարծիքով՝ անհրաժեշտ է անընդհատ մերկացնել ահաբեկիչների ցինիզմն ու թուլությունը:
