Տեխասում ապրող Հյուսթոն Լեյքը իրականում մի գաղտնիք ուներ, որի մասին ոչ ոք չգիտեր: Նա այսքան տարիների ընթացքում ամեն կերպ կարողացել էր պահել գաղտնիքը, բայց երբ հանդիպեց Բրայնա Բալլարդին՝ ամեն ինչ փոխվեց: Նրանցհարաբերությունները շատ արագ զարգացան և Մակկենզին հասկացավ, որ այլևս չի կարող ստել:

Սիրահար զույգը որոշեց գեղեցիկ ֆոտոսեսիա կազմակերպել անտառում: Եվ ահա առաջին կադրերում աղջիկը շրջվեց դեպի Բրայնան և մազերը ետ տանելով հանեց կեղծամը: Նա այնքնան աննկատ և գեղեցիկ արեց այդ ամենը, որ տղան միայնվերջումհսկացավ, որ նա ճաղատ է: Աղջիկն արդեն 15 տարի տառապում էր «ալոպեցիայով»:

Այդ ամենը մեծ անակնկալ էր բոլորի համար: Նրա մոտ մազաթափությունը սկսվել էր դեռ տարրական դասարաններում սովորելու ժամանակաշրջանից: Այդքան տարիների ընթացքում նրան հաջողվել էր խնամքով թաքցնել իր գաղտնիքը, բայց, երբ նա գտավ իր երկրորդ կեսին որոշեց բացահայտել այն: Աղջիկը չէր ցանկանում իր ընտանեկան երջանկությունը կառուցել ստի և կեղծիքի վրա:
