Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Անգելա Մերկելն ու Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը երկար դադարից հետո առաջին անգամ կրկին հեռախոսազրույց են ունեցել, որի ընթացքում քննարկել են երկկողմ հարաբերությունները, այս մասին տեղեկացնում է թուրքական «Անադոլու» գործակալությունը:

Նշվում է, որ քննարկման առանցքային թեմաներից է եղել նաև Եվրամիության և Թուրքիայի միջև կնքված միգրացիոն համաձայնագիրը:

Հիշեցնենք, որ Անկարայի և Բրյուսելի միջև համաձայնագիրը կնքվել է 2016-ի մարտին և ուղղված է փախստականների անվերահսկելի հոսքը դեպի Եվրոպա մեղմելուն: Սիրիայից Թուրքիա ժամանած փախստականներին Եվրամիությունը պարտավորվել էր պահել սեփական միջոցներով, որը փոխանցվում էր Թուրքիային:

Բացի այդ, Մերկելն ու Էրդողանը շեշտել են Գերմանիայի ու Թուրքիայի միջև հարաբերությունների զարգացմանը նոր մեկնարկ տալու անհրաժեշտության մասին: Կողմերը համաձայնություն են ձեռք բերել առավել ինտենսիվ աշխատել երկու երկրների հարաբերություններում առկա խնդիրների վերացման ուղղությամբ:

Բեռլինի և Անկարայի միջև հարաբերությունները սրվել էին Ստամբուլում գերմանական պարբերականի թուրք լրագրող Դենիզ Յուջելի ձերբակալությունից ու կալանավորումից հետո: Նա թուրքական իշխանությունների կողմից կասկածվում է «ահաբեկչական կազմակերպությանը հարելու, տվյալների անօրինական օգտագործման, ահաբեկչության քարոզչության համար»: Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Անգելա Մերկելը պահանջել է Անկարայից ազատ արձակել Յուջելին։

Լարվածության ֆոնին Գերմանիայում չեղարկվել էին Թուրքիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Մևլութ Չավուշօղլուի, արդարադատության նախարար Բեքիր Բոզդաղի և էկոնոմիկայի նախարար Նիհաթ Զեյբեկչիի ելույթներն ու հանդիպումները տեղի թուրքական համայնքի հետ:

Իր հերթին, Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանն, ի պատասխան Բեքիր Բոզդաղի` տեղի թուրքական համայնքի հետ հանդիպման չեղարկմանը, Բեռլինի վարած քաղաքականությունը համեմատել էր «անցյալում նացիստների գործողությունների» հետ։
