ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Յենս Ստոլտենբերգը Իսրայելում ԱՄՆ դեսպանատունը Թել Ավիվից Երուսաղեմ հնարավոր տեղափոխության հետ կապված ասել է, որ ԱՄՆ իրավունքն է նման որոշումներ ընդունելը, սակայն չի մեկնաբանել Վաշինգթոնի դիրքորոշումը մինչեւ այն պաշտոնապես հրւապարակելը, փոխանցում է «ՌԻԱ Նովոստի»-ն:

«Երկրներն իրենք պետք է այսպիսի հարցերով որոշումներ ընդունեն, եւ ես եզրակացություններ չեմ անի, որովհետեւ ԱՄՆ նախագահ Թրամփը հայտարարել է, որ այսօր ավելի ուշ ելույթով հանդես կգա: Առայժմ վաղ է խոսել ելույթի մասին, որը նա դեռեւս չի կատարել»,- հայտարարել է Ստոլտենբերգը լրագրողներին՝ ի պատասխան ԱՄՆ որոշումը մեկնաբանելու խնդրանքին:

Ավելի վաղ Սպիտակ տան ներկայացուցիչը հայտնել էր, որ դեկտեմբերի 6-ին Թրամփը կհայտարարի Իսրայելում ԱՄՆ դեսպանատունը Թել Ավիվից Երուսաղեմ տեղափոխելու մասին:

ԱՄՆ Կոնգրեսը դեռեւս 1995 թվականին է օրենք ընդունել Իսրայելում ԱՄՆ դեսպանատունը Թել Ավիվից Երուսաղեմ տեղափոխելու մասին: Սակայն քաղաքի վիճելի կարգավիճակի եւ արաբամուսուլմանական աշխարհի համար այս խնդրի զգայունության պատճառով ԱՄՆ բոլոր նախագահները, ներառյալ Թրամփը, յուրաքանչյուր կես տարին մեկ փաստաթուղթ են ստորագրում, որով այս որոշման կատարումը հետաձգվում է:
