Գերմանիայի արտաքին քաղաքական գերատեսչությունը հորդորել է Թուրքիային հարգել ՄԱԿ-ի Անվտանգության խորհրդի որոշումը Սիրիայի ողջ տարածքում 30 օր հրադադարի ռեժիմ հաստատելու վերաբերյալ՝ նշելով, որ դա վերաբերում է նաև Աֆրինին: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ վկայակոչելով գերմանական Deutsche Welle-ի թուրքական ծառայությունը, այս մասին լրագրողների հետ զրույցում նշել է Գերմանիայի ԱԳՆ խոսնակը:

Խոսնակն ընդգծել է, որ ՄԱԿ-ի որոշումը վերաբերում է Սիրիայի ամբողջ տարածքին: Նա նշել է, որ Գերմանիայի ԱԳՆ քարտուղար Ուոլտեր Լինդերը խնդրի առնչությամբ խոսել է այդ երկրում Թուրքիայի դեսպանի հետ՝ «հայտնելով ՄԱԿ-ի որոշման հետ կապված Գերմանիայի դիրքորոշումը»:

Պաշտոնական Անկարան ավելի վաղ խնդրի առնչությամբ հայտնել էր, որ դրական է գնահատում Սիրիայում 30-օրյա հրադադարի մասին որոշումը, սակայն թուրքական զինուժի կողմից իրականացվող «Ձիթենու ճյուղ» գործողությունը «ահաբեկչության դեմ պայքարի» գործողություն է: Թուրքական կողմը նշել էր, թե Սիրիայում հակամարտող կողմ չի հանդիսանում, հետևաբար այդ որոշումն իրենց համար չի գործում:

Ավելի վաղ, հաստատված հրադադարի ռեժիմը հարգելու մասին պաշտոնական Անկարային կոչ էր արել նաև Ֆրանսիայի նախագահ Էմանուել Մակրոնը:

Թուրքիայի զինված ուժերը հունվարի 20-ից Սիրիայի Աֆրին շրջանում քրդերի դեմ ռազմական գործողություն են սկսել, որը ստացել է «Ձիթենու ճյուղ» անվանումը: Թուրքիայի գործողություններին աջակցում է նաև Սիրիայի ընդդիմադիր «Սիրիական ազատ բանակը»: Ահաբեկչական տարրերի դեմ պայքարելու հիմնավորմամբ թուրքական զինուժն իրականում գործողություններն ուղղում է քրդերի, այդ թվում և խաղաղ բնակչության դեմ:
