ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Վիգեն Սարգսյանը մարտի 6-ին ընդունել է ԱՄՆ-ի ռազմաօդային ուժերի պատերազմի քոլեջի ուսանողներին: Հանդիպմանը մասնակցել են ՀՀ-ում ԱՄՆ արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Ռիչարդ Միլսը և դեսպանության ռազմական կցորդը:

Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարության տեղեկատվության և հասարակայնության հետ կապերի վարչությունից, ԱՄՆ-ի ռազմաօդային ուժերի պատերազմի քոլեջը ԱՄՆ զինված ուժերի բարձրաստիճան սպայակազմի համար ռազմավարական մակարդակի կրթություն ապահովող բարձրագույն ռազմաուսումնական հաստատություններից մեկն է:  Քոլեջի ուսանողները արտագնա ուսումնական գործընթացի շրջանակում Հայաստան են ժամանել Վրաստանից:

Հանդիպման ընթացքում ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարը համառոտ ներկայացրել է ՀՀ անվտանգային միջավայրի հիմնական սպառնալիքները, ՀՀ զինված ուժերում վերջերս իրականացված բարեփոխումները և զինված ուժերի արդիականացման 7-ամյա ծրագրի առաջնահերթությունները, պատասխանել հանդիպման մասնակիցների հարցերին:

Ամերիկյան ուսանողներին հետաքրքրող հիմնական հարցերն առնչվել են տարածաշրջանային անվտանգությանը, միջազգային առաքելություններին ՀՀ ներգրավվածությանը և ՀՀ զինված ուժերի առաջնահերթությունների իրագործման ուղղությամբ ձեռնարկվող քայլերին:

ԱՄՆ-ի ռազմաօդային ուժերի պատերազմի քոլեջի պատվիրակությունը այցի շրջանակում հյուրընկալվելու է նաև ՀՀ ՊՆ Պաշտպանական ազգային հետազոտական համալսարանում:
