Միացյալ Նահանգները խորապես մտահոգված է Թուրքիայում գործող արտակարգ դրության պայմաններում խորհրդարանական ու նախագահական ընտրություններ անցկացնելու հեռանկարով: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին լրագրողների հետ ճեպազրույցի ժամանակ հայտարարել է ԱՄՆ պետդեպարտամենտի խոսնակ Հիզեր Նոյերթը:

«Արտակարգ դրության պայմաններում դժվար է լինելու անցկացնել բացարձակ ազատ, արդար ու թափանցիկ ընտրություններ: Մենք ուշի ուշով հետևում ենք դրանց: Իհարկե կցանկանայինք տեսնել ազատ ու արդար ընտրություններ, սակայն մտահոգություններ կան»,- ասել է Նոյերթը:

Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը ապրիլի 18-ին հայտարարեց երկրում արտահերթ խորհրդարանական և նախագահական ընտրություններ անցկացնելու մասին: Ընտրությունները, որոնք ի սկզբանե նախանշված էին 2019 թվականի նոյեմբերի 3-ին, տեղի կունենան միևնույն օրը՝ հունիսի 24-ին:

Էրդողանը, անդրադառնալով ընտրություններն արտահերթ կերպով անցկացնելու պատճառներին, նշել էր, թե Սիրիայում և Իրաքում տեղի ունեցող զարգացումները, պայքարն «Իսլամական պետություն» ահաբեկչական խմբավորման և քուրդ զինյալների հետ Թուրքիայում հրատապ անցումը նախագահական կառավարման համակարգի դարձրել են անհրաժեշտ հրամայական` «որպես տիրող անորոշությունը հաղթահարելու միջոց»: Իրականում, սակայն, նման որոշման վրա մեծ դերակատարում ունեն այլ գործոններ ևս, օրինակ երկրում տնտեսության ահագնացող վիճակը (թուրքական լիրայի փոխարժեքը դոլարի ու եվրոյի նկատմամբ հասել է պատմական նվազագույնին): Բացի այդ, հայտարարելով շուրջ երկու ամիս անց երկրում խորհրդարանական ու նախագահական ընտրություններ անցկացնելու մասին՝ Էրդողանը զրկում է իր ընդդիմությանը ինքնակազմակերպվելու, ընտրություններին պատշաճ մասնակցելու հնարավորությունից:

Հունիսին կայանալիք ընտրությունների արդյունքում երկրում տեղի կունենա անցում կառավարման խորհրդարանական համակարգից նախագահականի: Այս անցումն ամրագրվել էր 2017 թվականի ապրիլին Թուրքիայում տեղի ունեցած սահմանադրական հանրաքվեով:

Ընտրություններն կանցկացվեն դեռևս 2016 թվականի ամռանից՝ ռազմական ձախողված հեղաշրջումից հետո Թուրքիայում հաստատված արտակարգ դրության պայմաններում:
