 Ամերիկյան կողմի նախաձեռնությամբ ապրիլի 30-ին  հեռախոսազրույց է տեղի ունեցել ՀՀ ԱԳ նախարարի պաշտոնակատար Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանի և ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղարի Եվրոպայի և Եվրասիայի հարցերով տեղակալ Ուես Միթչելի միջև:

Զրուցակիցներն անդրադարձել են Հայաստանում տեղի ունեցող ներքաղաքական զարգացումներին։ Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ՀՀ արտաքին գործերի նախարարության մամուլի, տեղեկատվության եւ հասարակայնության հետ կապի վարչությունից, ԱԳՆ ղեկավարն ու պետքարտուղարի տեղակալը համակարծիք էին, որ ստեղծված իրավիճակի լուծման ուղղությամբ ձեռնարկվող ջանքերը պետք է ընթանան ՀՀ Սահմանադրության շրջանակներում:

Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանն ու Ուես Միթչելը մտքեր փոխանակեցին ղարաբաղյան հակամարտության գոտում իրավիճակի շուրջ։ Զրուցակիցները վերահաստատեցին իրավիճակի լարման բացառման անհրաժեշտությունը և այս առումով կարևորեցին ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահների վերջին հայտարարությունը։

Հեռախոսազրույցի ընթացքում անդրադարձ կատարվեց հայ-ամերիկյան բարեկամական գործընկերության առավել խորացման ուղղությամբ համատեղ քայլերին:
