«Ավրորա» 2018-ի մրցանակի հավակնորդ Չո Լա Աունը վստահ է` եթե իրեն շնորհվի այդ պատվաբեր մրցանակը, ինքն ավելի մեծ աշխատանք կանի, քան նախկինում: Մյանմայի ռոհինջաներին պաշտպանող հերոսն այս մասին ասաց Հայաստանում հարյուրավոր մարդկանց հետ հանդիպմանը:

«Շնորհակալություն եմ հայտնում Հայաստանի ժողովրդին և բոլոր նրանց, ովքեր մեզ համար եկել են Հայաստան: Հարգանքս եմ հայտնում այն ուշադրության համար, որ ցուցաբերել եք մեր նկատմամբ»,-ասաց Չո Լա Աունը:

 2012-ին իր գյուղը ոչնչացվել է, և ծայրահեղականները դուրս են շպրտել իրենց տներից: «Երբ ես զբաղվում էի իրավաբանությամբ, նկատում էի, որ շատերն ըստ էության տուժում էին Մյանմայի ռազմականացված իշխանության գործողություններից: Մարդիկ կային, ովքեր խնդրում էին, որ պաշտպանեի իրենց իրավունքները, երբ նրանց ձեռքից խլում էին իրենց հողերը»,-ասաց Չո Լա Աունն ու հավելեց, որ ինքն ըստ էության օգնել է նրանց:

Իշխանությունները շատ անգամ ձերբակալել են Աունին օգնություն ցուցաբերելու համար: Հետո իշխանությունները հնարավորություն են տվել իրեն սեփական քաղաքական կուսակցություն հիմնելու: Եվ ինքն ընտրվել է  որպես իր կուսակցության ներկայացուցիչ խորհրդարանում: Նա իր մահմեդական ընկերներին օգնության ձեռք մեկնելու նպատակով  աջակցել է երեխաներին` ստանալու կրթություն: Գտել են դոնորների, կառուցել են դպրոց և կրթել երեխաներին: Ընտրել են նաև հարյուրից ավելի ուսոցիչների:

Չո Լա Աունը շարունակաբար քննադատել է Մյանմայի կառավարությանը ռասսայական և կրոնական խտրականության, այդ թվում` ռոհինջաներին Մյանմայի քաղաքացիություն չտալու և նրանց իրավունքները չպաշտպանելու համար: Աունը չի կորցում իր ժողովրդի ապագայի նկատմամբ հույսը, ժողովրդի թշվառ կացությունը ստիպում է Աունին շարունակել իր գործը: Եվ անմարդկային վերաբերմունքի այդ շրջանակից միակ ելքը տեսնում է կրթության մեջ:

«Ավրորա» մրցանակը դիմում է մարդասիրական կազմակերպություններին և հանրությանը՝ կոչ անելով առաջադրել այնպիսի անհատների, որոնք արտաքին մեծ վտանգներ հաղթահարելու գնով բացառիկ ազդեցություն են ունեցել մարդկային կյանքի փրկության և մարդասիրությունն առաջ մղելու գործում: «Ավրորա» 2018-ը կկայանա հունիսի 10-ին:
