Մի երիտասարդ, ավարտելով քոլեջը, վստահ էր, որ հայրն իրեն ավտոմեքենա կնվիրի քոլեջը լավ ավարտելու և դիպլոմ ստանալու համար: Հենց այդ պատճառով մի քանի ամիս շարունակ նա հիանում էր գեղեցիկ սպորտային մեքենաներով և մշտապես հոր ուշադրությունը հրավիրում էր այդ մեքենաների վրա:

Եվ ահա եկավ սպասված օրը: Առավոտյան՝ դիպլոմների հանձնման հանդիսավոր արարողությունից առաջ, հայրը որդուն հրավիրեց միասին զբոսնելու և ինչ-որ բան քննարկելու:

Տարված լինելով թանկարժեք նվեր ստանալու մոլուցքով՝ տղան անմիջապես ընդունեց հոր առաջարկը:

Հայր և որդի հանգիստ ու դանդաղ քայլերով զբոսնում էին, երբ տղան մտքում դիմում էր հորն՝ ասելով. «Դե արագ, պատմի՛ր ինձ մի նվերի մասին»:

Վերջապես հայրն սկսեց խոսել որդու մասին: Նա նախ ցույց տվեց իր հպարտությունը, թե որքան լավ տղա է դաստիարակել, հետո անդրադարձավ նրա փայլուն ապագային և այլն:

Այդպես քայլելով նրանք հասան տուն և իր խոսքի ավարտին հայրը որդուն մի արկղ նվիրեց: Դողացող ձեռքերով ու անհամբերությամբ տղան պատռեց արկղի փաթեթավորումը և բացեց այն: Արկղում Աստվածաշունչն էր:

Խորը հիասթափություն ապրած տղան չկարողանալով զսպել իր զայրույթը՝ բարկացավ հոր վրա և թողեց հեռացավ: Շատ տարիներ անց, երբ տղան արդեն հաջողակ գործարար էր և ուներ իր ընտանիքը, այլ քաղաքում մեքենա և թանկարժեք տուն, մի օր որոշեց վերադառնալ հայրական տուն և խոսել հոր հետ:

Նա հետ եկավ, սակայն տանը հորը չգտավ, քանի որ վերջինս այլ քաղաք էր տեղափոխվել՝ սեղանին այդ մասին տեղեկացնող գրություն թողնելով:

Գրության մեջ հայրը որդուն տեղեկացրել էր , որ այդ բնակարանը թողնում է նրան: Հավաքելով տան թափթփված իրերը՝ տղան գտան նաև այն փոքրիկ Աստվածաշունչը, որը հայրն իրեն էր նվիրել:

Նա թերթեց այն և վերջին էջում գտավ սոսնձված մեքենայի բանալիներ և փաստաթղթեր այն մասին, որ մեքենայի համար հայրը վճարել էր իր ամբողջ ունեցվածքը:
