39-ամյա Կառանն ու նրա ամուսինը 3-րդ երեխային էին սպասում և աննկարագրելի երջանիկ էին: Բայց բժշկին հերթական այցի ժամանակ նրանց ասացին, որ երեխան Դաունի սինդրոմ ունի և հնարավոր է՝ չապրի, նույնիսկ մինչ ծնվելը: Ամուսինները որոշեցին բոլոր դեպքերում պահել պտուղը: Մի քանի ամիս անց երեխան լույս աշխարհ եկավ ողջ, սակայն սարսափելի թույլ, և ծնողները պատրաստվում էին վատագույնին:

Կառանը խնդրեց գրկել երեխային, որպեսզի հրաժեշտ տա նրան: Բայց այն պահին, երբ մայրը նրան գիրկն առավ, երեխան սկսեց աշխուժություն ցույց տալ ու կարծես ավելի լավ էր: Հետազոտությունից հետո բժիշկները հայտարարեցին, որ հրաշք է տեղի ունեցել, և ոչ ոք չկարողացավ բացատրել, թե ինչպես երեխայի վիճակը լավացավ: 6 ամիս անց նրան կարողացան տուն տեղափոխվել: Այժմ երեխան 5 տարեկան է, ապրում է երջանիկ ընտանիքում և չի էլ պատկերացնում, որ ինչ-որ ժամանակ իրեն վտանգ էր սպառնում:
