Այս պատմությունն արդեն երկար տարիներ է, ինչ շրջանառվում է, սական նրանում պարունակվող ուղերձն ակտուալ կմա ընդմիշտ:

Տոլյատիից երիտասարդ զույգը գերմանական հովվաշուն տուն բերեց, որը դեռևս շատ փոքրիկ էր: Մեծանալով շունն օր օրի ավելի էր մտերմանում իր տերերի հետ, դառնալով ընտանիքի անդամ և լավ բարեկամ:

 

Նրանք միասին հաճախ էին զբոսանքի գնում բնության գիրք, պիկնիկներ կազմակերպում: Հերթական զբսանքի ժամանակ երիտասարդ զույգը կարմիր մարդատարով մայրուղուն բախվեց մեկ այլ մեքենայի: 20 տարի առաջվա արտադրության մեքենան հագեցած չէր անվտանգության բարձիկներով: Երիտասարդները, տղան և աղջիկը տեղում մահացան:

Հրաշքով ողջ մնաց միայն նրանց սիրելի շունը: Արթնանալով վթարից մի քանի րոպե անց` շունը սկսեց նստել և սպասել իր տերերին: Օրեր, շաբաթներ ու ամիսներ անցան, սակայն հավատարիմ շունը չէր հեռանում դեպքի վայրից` հավատալով, որ իր տերերը մի օր կվերադառնան: Հարևան տների բնակիչները սկսեցին նկատել շանը: Մեկ տարուց ավելի էր անցել, բայց շունը մնում էր վթարի վայրում` անկախ նրանից դրսում անձրև էր, ձյուն, թե անտանելի շոգ:

Տոլյատիի բնակիչները փորձեցին շանն իրենց տուն տաներ, սակայն հավատարիմ չորքոտանին վերադառնում էր իր սպասման վայր` ամեն օր ցատկելով կարմիր գույնի մեքենաների վրա և հուսալով, որ կտեսնի իր տերերին: Բնակիչները շուտով հաշտվեցին այն փաստի հետ, որ շունը երբեք չի հեռանա դեպքի վայրից և սկսեցին նրա համար ամեն օր կեր բերել:

Մի օր էլ նրանք տարօրինակ դատարկություն նկատեցին. Հովվաշունն այլևս այն վայրում չէր, որտեղ սպասում էր իր տերերին:

Նրա մահացած մարմինը բնակիչները գտան անտառում, իսկ հետո որոշեցին ի հիշատակ հավատարիմ կենդանու` արձան տեղադրել, որը դարձել է բարության և հավատարմության խորհրդանիշ շատերի համար:
