Դուք երբևէ մտածե՞լ եք, թե ինչու են վիրաբյուժները մշտապես կանաչ համազգեստ կրում։ Վերջիվերջո այդ հագուստը կարող էր լինել սպիտակ կամ կարմիր կամ ցանկացած այլ գույնի։ Սակայն պարզվում է, որ այդպիսի փոքրիկ մանրուքից կարող է կախված լինել վիրահատության արդյունքը։

Մենք պարզել ենք, թե ինչու է վիրաբույժների աշխատանքային համազգեստի գույնն այդքան կարևոր:
 

Սկզբում բոլոր բժիշկները սպիտակ համազգեստ են կրել մինչև 1914 թվականը, երբ մի հեղինակավոր և ազդեցիկ բժիշկ հրաժարվեց սպիտակ համազգեստից՝ նախապատվությունը տալով կանաչին և կապույտին։

 
 

Բանն այն է, որ ճերմակ գույնը կարող է մի քանի վայրկյանով կուրացնել բժշկին, եթե պատահաբար հայացք նետի իր կոլեգաներից մեկի համազգեստի վրա՝ արյանը նայելուց անմիջապես հետո։ Այդ նույն բանը պատահում է մեզ հետ, երբ դուրս ենք գալիս տանից և նայում ձյանը՝ արևային եղանակին։

Բայց ինչո՞ւ են բժիշկներն ընտրել հենց կապույտ և կանաչ գույները, այլ ոչ թե դեղինը կամ մանուշակագույնը։ Բանն այն է, որ կանաչը և կապույտը գունային սպեկտրում համարվում են կարմիր գույնի հակառակ բևեռը, իսկ վիրահատությունների ժամանակ բժիշկները անդադար նայում են հենց կարմիր գույնին։

Այդ կերպ կանաչ և կարմիր գույները ոչ միայն խթանում են բժիշկների սուր տեսողությունը, այլ նաև նրան ավելի զգայուն են դարձնում կարմիր գույնի հանդեպ։ Դրանից հետևում է, որ բժշկներն ավելի ուշադիր են դառնում մարդկային կենսաբանության առանձնահատկությունների հանդեպ, ինչն իր հերթին նվազեցնում է վիրահատական սխալի հավանականությունը։
