Օգոստոսի 30-ին Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Երկրորդ Ծայրագույն Պատրիարք և Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնում ընդունել է Հայաստանի Հանրապետության Կրթության և գիտության նախարար Արայիկ Հարությունյանին: 

Ինչպես տեղեկացրին Մայր Աթոռ Ս. Էջմիածնի տեղեկատվական համակարգից, շնորհավորելով նախարարին նշանակման առիթով` Վեհափառ Հայրապետը բերել է նրան արդյունավետ աշխատանքի իր բարեմաղթանքները:

Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը նախարարին տեղեկացրել է Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնի կողմից կրթության ոլորտում իրականացվող ծրագրերի մասին` ընդգծելով, որ Հայոց Եկեղեցին, հավատարիմ իր դարավոր առաքելությանը, շարունակում է իր կարևոր ավանդը բերել ազգի երիտասարդության կրթության և հոգևոր դաստիարակության սրբազան գործում: Այս իմաստով Նորին Սրբությունը կարևորել է Մայր Աթոռի կառույցների և ՀՀ պետական պատկան մարմինների միջև ձևավորված արդյունավետ գործակցությունը:

Վեհափառ Հայրապետը մասնավորապես անդրադարձ է կատարել Մայր Աթոռի հովանու ներքո գործող երեք հոգևոր կրթական հաստատությունների և հանրակրթական դպրոցների գործունեությանը, ինչպես նաև խոսել Հայաստանի տարբեր քաղաքներում հիմնադրված տասը հայորդյաց տներում մանուկների և պատանիների կրթության և օգտաշատ այլ ծրագրերի մասին: 

Գարեգին Բ Հայրապետը տիար Արայիկ Հարությունյանին տեղեկություններ է փոխանցել նաև կրթության ոլորտում Մայր Աթոռի կողմից իրականացվելիք ապագա ծրագրերի մասին` հաստատելով, որ պիտի շարունակվի Հայրապետական կրթաթոշակի բաշխումն առաջադիմություն ցուցաբերած ուսանողներին, ինչպես նաև «Լավագույն ուսուցիչ» մրցանակաբաշխությունը: 

Իր հերթին ՀՀ Կրթության և գիտության նախարարը մեծապես կարևորել է այս հանդիպումը` ընդգծելով Հայոց Եկեղեցու նշանակությունը հայ ժողովրդի պատմության ընթացքում և Հայաստանի անկախության տարիներին: Պրն. Արայիկ Հարությունյանն անդրադարձ է կատարել կրթության ոլորտում առկա խնդիրներին և մարտահրավերներին, խոսել նախաձեռնվելիք բարեփոխումների մասին:

Զրույցի ընթացքում խոսվել է նաև Սփյուռքի դպրոցներում մայրենի լեզվի ուսուցման կազմակերպման և Հայաստանի հանրակրթական դպրոցներում «Հայ Եկեղեցու պատմության» առարկայի դասավանդման ընթացքի մասին:

Հանդիպմանը ներկա էին Մայր Աթոռի Քրիստոնեական դաստիարակության կենտրոնի տնօրեն Գերաշնորհ Տ. Վարդան եպիսկոպոս Նավասարդյանը, Գևորգյան հոգևոր ճեմարանի տեսուչ Հոգեշնորհ Տ. Գարեգին վարդապետ Համբարձումյանը և ԿԳ փոխնախարար Հովհաննես Հովհաննիսյանը:
