Սեպտեմբերի երկրորդ շաբաթ օրն ամբողջ աշխարհում նշվում է որպես Առաջին օգնության համաշխարհային օր: Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ը տեղեկացավ Հայկական Կարմիր խաչի ընկերության «Ֆեյսբուք»-ի էջից, դրա նպատակն է բարձրացնել կյանքեր փրկելու համար առաջին օգնության գիտելիքների ու հմտությունների կարևորության վերաբերյալ իրազեկությունը, ինչպես նաև ջատագովել, որ դրանք հասանելի լինեն յուրաքանչյուրին:

Տարեկան ավելի քան 1.25 միլիոն մարդ է մահանում ավտովթարի հետևանքով։ Առողջապահության համաշխարհային կազմակերպության ուսումնասիրությունների համաձայն, եթե հետևողական քայլեր չձեռնարկվեն, մինչև 2030 թվականը ճանապարհատրանսպորտային պատահարները մահացության 7-րդ հիմնական պատճառը կդառնան։ 
Առաջին օգնությունը արդյունավետ և արագ գործողությունների շարքում կենսական նշանակություն ունեցող այն առաջին քայլն է, որն օգնում է կանխել լուրջ վնասվածքները և մեծացնել փրկվելու շանսերը: Այսպիսով, Առաջին օգնության դասընթաց անցնելն ու համապատասխան գիտելիքներ ձեռք բերելն այն արյդունավետ միջոցն է, որ բարձրացնում է ճանապարհային անվտանգության և՝ վթարի դեպքում, պարզ գործողություններ կատարելու վերաբերյալ իրազեկվածությունը։

Արդեն երկար տարիներ է, ինչ Առաջին օգնությունը Հայկական Կարմիր խաչի ընկերության (ՀԿԽԸ) ռազմավարական ուղղություններից է:

ՀԿԽԸ-ն միակն է երկրում, որ Առաջին օգնության Եվրոպական խորհրդատվական կենտրոնի չափանիշներին համապատասխան դասընթացներ է իրականացնում տարբեր տարիքային և մասնագիտական խմբերի համար՝ արտակարգ իրավիճակներից և դժբախտ պատահարներից բնակչության խոցելիությունը նվազեցնելու նպատակով: ՀԿԽԸ Առաջին օգնության ուսումնամեթոդական կենտրոնի մասնագետներն իրականացնում են նաև ԱՕ սպասարկում զանգվածային միջոցառումների ժամանակ, ինչպես նաև ծրագրեր` ուղղված երեխաների անվտանգ վարքագծի դաստիարակմանը:
