Սեպտեմբերի 12-ին ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Դավիթ Տոնոյանն ընդունել է ԱՄՆ-ի Կանզաս նահանգի ադյուտանտ-գեներալ, ազգային գվարդիայի հրամանատար, գեներալ-մայոր Լի Թաֆանելիին և Հայաստանում  ԱՄՆ արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Ռիչարդ Միլսին:

Ինչպես ՀՀ կառավարության տեղեկատվության և հասարակայնության հետ կապերի վարչությունից, հանդիպման ընթացքում քննարկվել են ՀՀ զինված ուժերի և Կանզասի ազգային գվարդիայի միջև համագործակցությանը և հետագա հեռանկարներին առնչվող հարցեր:

ՀՀ զինված ուժերի և ԱՄՆ-ի Կանզաս նահանգի ազգային գվարդիայի համագործակցության 15-ամյա հոբելյանին նվիրված հանդիսավոր միջոցառմանը ելույթներով հանդես են եկել ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Դավիթ Տոնոյանը, ՀՀ-ում ԱՄՆ արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Ռիչարդ Միլսը և Կանզաս նահանգի ադյուտանտ-գեներալ, ազգային գվարդիայի հրամանատար, գեներալ-մայոր Լի Թաֆանելիին: Կողմերը բարձր են գնահատել ՀՀ զինված ուժերի և Կանզասի ազգային գվարդիայի միջև համագործակցության մակարդակը:

ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Դավիթ Տոնոյանն ընդգծել է, որ Կանզասի ազգային գվարդիայի հետ համագործակցությունն ընդլայնվելու, տևական և շարունակական բնույթ է կրելու՝ ի շահ մեր երկու ժողովուրդների բարօրության, խաղաղության և միջազգային կայունության ամրապնդման:

ՀՀ-ում ԱՄՆ արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Ռիչարդ Միլսը նշել է. «Այսօր մենք տոնում ենք Հայաստանի և Կանզաս նահանգի միջև գործընկերության 15 տարին: 2003թ. սկսած Կանզասի ազգային գվարդիան օգնել է կատարելագործել Հայաստանի սերժանտական կորպուսի կարողությունները, ամրապնդել ռազմաբժշկական, խաղաղապահ գործառույթները, զարգացնել շարժական հոսպիտալների գործարկման, աղետների արձագանքման և մարդասիրական օժանդակության կարողությունները: Արդյունքում Կանզաս նահանգի և Հայաստանի միջև ձևավորվել է ամուր ու տևական բարեկամություն, որն ապագայում ևս կշարունակի աճել»:

Հանդիսավոր միջոցառման ընթացքում «Ռազմական համագործակցության համար» մեդալով պարգևատրվել է Կանզասի համագործակցության հարցերով պատասխանատու, մայոր Դոնալդ Հարպերը և պատվոգրով` ՀՀ-ում ԱՄՆ դեսպանության պաշտպանական համագործակցության գրասենյակի ղեկավար, մայոր Սթիվեն Չուն:

Կանզաս նահանգի ադյուտանտ գեներալի կողմից «Պատրիոտ» մեդալով են պարգևատրվել ՀՀ ՊՆ պաշտպանական քաղաքականության վարչության միջազգային ռազմական համագործակցության բաժնի պետ, գնդապետ Արամ Հովհաննիսյանը և նույն բաժնի պետի տեղակալ, փոխգնդապետ Արմեն Զաքարյանը:

ՀՀ զինված ուժերի և ԱՄՆ-ի Կանզաս նահանգի ազգային գվարդիայի համագործակցության 15-ամյա հոբելյանին նվիրված հանդիսավոր միջոցառումը եզրափակվել է ՀՀ ՊՆ պատվո պահակախմբի ցուցադրական ելույթով:
