Հանրապետության նախագահ Արմեն Սարգսյանն ապրիլի 24-ին ուղերձ է հղել Հայոց ցեղասպանության զոհերի հիշատակի օրվա կապակցությամբ:ՀՀ նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության հետ կապերի վարչությունից, ուղերձում ասվում է.

«Այսօր համայն հայ ժողովուրդը՝ առաջադեմ մարդկության հետ, աշխարհի բոլոր մայրցամաքների վրա ոգեկոչում է Հայոց ցեղասպանության զոհերի հիշատակը:

Ապրիլի 24-ը Օսմանյան Թուրքիայում պետական մակարդակով կազմակերպված և իրականացված հայոց ցեղասպանության անմեղ զոհերի հիշատակի օրն է, իրենց պատմական բնօրրանում բռնությունների ենթարկված և հայրենի հողից տեղահանված մեր բազմաթիվ հայրենակիցների ողբերգությունը վերստին հիշելու, մեր կորցրած հոգևոր, նյութական ու մշակութային արժեքների մասին հիշեցնելու, մարդկության դեմ ուղղված ծանրագույն հանցագործության՝ ցեղասպանության մասին աշխարհին ևս մեկ անգամ բարձրաձայնելու, սթափության և ժխտողականության դեմ պայքարի կոչելու օրը:

Ապրիլի 24-ը մեզ համար խնկարկումի, բայց նաև հարության օր է:

Հայոց ցեղասպանության անպատժելիությունը դուռ բացեց մարդկության դեմ հետագա ծանր հանցագործությունների և ցեղասպանությունների առջև: Հիշենք Հոլոքոստը, Կամբոջան, Ռուանդան եւ մյուս ողբերգությունները:

Այն զգոնության դաս պետք է լինի բոլորի համար: Մարդկության դեմ գործած այդ ահավոր ոճրի միջազգային ճանաչումը և դատապարտումը կարեւոր քայլ պետք է դառնա դրա կրկնությունը աշխարհում որեւէ տեղ բացառելու նպատակով:

Մենք մեր երախտագիտությունն ենք հայտնում բոլոր այն պետություններին, միջազգային կառույցներին եւ կազմակերպություններին, հոգեւոր պետերին և քաղաքական առաջնորդներին, մշակութային, ակադեմիական և գիտական շրջանակների ներկայացուցիչներին, անհատներին, որոնք իրենց համերաշխությունն են հայտնում հայ ժողովրդին և ճանաչում ու դատապարտում Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը:

Այսօր գլուխ խոնարհելով սուրբ նահատակների հիշատակի առջև՝ միեւնույն ժամանակ մենք վկայում ենք վերապրելու և մեր Հայրենիքը վերակերտելու աննկուն կամքը:

Վերապրողների ժառանգներիս պարտքն է համախմբվել մեր ազգային իղձերի շուրջ, հավատարիմ մնալ մեր ինքնությանն ու արժեքներին, խթանել ժողովրդի ստեղծարար ուժերը, կերտել դինամիկ զարգացող ժամանակակից Հայաստան, որը հպարտության առարկա կլինի աշխարհի բոլոր հայերի համար և ունակ՝ պաշտպանելու հայ ժողովրդի անանց իրավունքները»:
