Հանրապետության նախագահ Արմեն Սարգսյանի հրավերով այսօր Հայաստան են ժամանել «Համաշխարհային առաջնորդության հիմնադրամ»-ի (Global Leadership Foundation) պատվիրակությունը, որի կազմում են 1989-92 թթ. ՄԱԿ-ում Միացյալ Նահանգների մշտական ներկայացուցիչ Թոմաս Փիքերինգը, Շվեյցարիայի նախկին նախագահ Միշելին Կալմի-Ռեյը, 2011-17 թթ. ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղարի՝ խաղաղապահ առաքելությունների հարցով տեղակալ Հերվե Լադսուսը, ինչպես նաև հիմնադրամի նախագծերի տնօրեն Ամիթավ Բաներջին:

Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ՀՀ նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության հետ կապերի վարչությունից, այցի շրջանակում պատվիրակության անդամները կհանդիպեն Հանրապետության բարձրագույն ղեկավարության հետ, կայցելեն Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածին, կլինեն Հայոց ցեղասպանության հուշահամալիրում:

«Համաշխարհային առաջնորդության հիմնադրամ»-ի բոլոր անդամները պետությունների կամ կառավարությունների նախկին ղեկավարներ, բարձրաստիճան պաշտոններ զբաղեցրած անձինք են: 2006-2013 թվականներին հիմնադրամի խորհրդի անդամ է եղել Արմեն Սարգսյանը:

Շահույթ չհետապնդող, անկախ այս կառույցը ողջ աշխարհում աջակցում է քաղաքական առաջնորդներին՝ նրանց համար հասանելի դարձնելով նախկին ղեկավարների փորձառությունը: 2004 թվականին հիմնադրումից ի վեր՝ «Համաշխարհային առաջնորդության հիմնադրամ»-ը խորհրդատվություն է մատուցել այնպիսի ոլորտներում, ինչպիսիք են տարածաշրջանային անվտանգությունը, անվտանգության ոլորտի արդիականացումը, ահաբեկչական կազմակերպություններին դիմակայումը և գերիների ազատ արձակումը, քաղաքական հաշտեցումն ու միջազգային համաձայնագրերի կիրառումը, ընտրություններն ու տնտեսական բարեփոխումները, առևտուրն ու ռեսուրսների կառավարումը, ժողովրդավարական ինստիտուտների զարգացումը, հումանիտար օգնության հասանելիությունը, հակամարտությունների կառավարումը և այլն:

Կազմակերպության գործող անդամների շարքում են ՆԱՏՕ-ի նախկին գլխավոր քարտուղար Խավիեր Սոլանան, Ֆրանսիայի նախկին վարչապետ Ժան-Պիեր Ռաֆարենը, Առևտրի համաշխարհային կազմակերպության նախկին գլխավոր տնօրեն Մայք Մուրը, Շվեդիայի նախկին վարչապետ և արտգործնախարար Կարլ Բիլդտը, ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղարի նախկին առաջին տեղակալ Լուիզա Ֆրեշետը, Գանայի նախկին նախագահ Ջոն Կուֆուորը, ՄԱԿ-ում ԱՄՆ նախկին մշտական ներկայացուցիչ Դոնալդ ՄըքՀենրին, Իսպանիայի նախկին արտգործնախարար Անա Պալասիոն, Ավստրալիայի նախկին վարչապետ Քևին Ռադը, Լատվիայի նախկին նախագահ Վայրա Վիկե-Ֆրեյբերգը և այլք:
