Աբովյանում բավականին հետաքրքրիր նախընտրական գործընթաց է ընթանում՝ այնտեղ հունիսի 9-ին տեղի կունենա քաղաքապետի ընտրություն։ Դեռևս ամիսներ առաջ պարզ էր, որ հիմնական պայքարն ընդանալու է գործող քաղաքապետ Վահագն Գևորգյանի և իշխանության թեկնածու Գրիգոր Գուլյանի միջև՝ ում հովանավորում է մարզպետ Ռոմանոս Պետրոսյանը։

Նախընտրական կամպանիան մեկնարկեց մայիսի 22-ին, նույն օրը բավականին զարամանալի «զուգադիպությամբ» արձակուրդի մեկնեց մարզպետը, ով իր այդ քայլով ևս մեկ անգամ ապացուցեց, որ հենց ինքն է լինելու Գուլյանի հիմնական քարոզչությունն իրականացնողը։ Կուլիսային խոսակցություններ կան, որ Գուլյանի թեկնածության համար Պետրոսյանը իր կուսակցության վարչությունում լուրջ «բազարների» մեջ է եղել, իսկ աբբովյանցիները նրան ընդհանրապես չեն ճանաչում, և մարզպետը, լինեով աբովյանից, իր ներկայությամբ փոևձում է իշխանություններին «պավդադիտ» չանելու համար, անձամբ ներկայացնի իր թեկնածուին։ Նախընտրական ողջ ընթացքում հիմնական շրջանառվող թեզը կապված է այն հանգամանքի հետ, որ Գուլայնը ներկայացնում է վարչապետի թիմը և հենց նրան են իշխանությունները տեսնում Աբովյանի ապագա ղեկավար։ Իշխանականները, դիմելով պրիմիտիվ PR տեխնոլոգիայի, նախընտրական կարգախոսով նույնպես նմանվել են Փաշինյանին՝ ընտրելով «Քայլ արա Աբովյան» կարգախոսը։

Այս փաստի հետ կապված բավականին հետաքրքիր դիտարկում է արել քաղաքապետի մեկ այլ թեկնածու Սասուն Գրիգորյանը, ով իր նախընտրական հանդիպումներից մեկի ժամանակ, անդրադառնալով Գուլյանի վարած քարոզարշավին ասել է, որ նրա հանդիպումների ընդհանուր թեզն այն է, որ ինքը վարչապետի թեկնածու է։ Նա նաև փաստել է, որ մարզպետն ուիր թիմակիցները դիմել են պարզ մանիպուլյացիայի, «եթե նա լիներ Փաշինյանի թեկնածուն, ապա անձամբ վարչապետը հանդես կգար հայտարարությամբ»։  

Ամփոփելով նշենք, որ ակնհայտ է՝ հեղափոխության իներցիոն ուժն այդքան երկար չի կարող շարունակվել,  փաստ է մի բան ևս՝ Հայաստանում չեն կարող լինել հակահեղափոխական քաղաքներ, գյուղեր և այլն։
