Ձկան յուղը կարող է օգտակար լինել արյան քաղցկեղի բուժման համար։ ԱՄՆ գիտնականները պարզել են, որ ձկան յուղից պատրաստված բաղադրությունը կարող է օգտակար լինել արյան քաղցկեղի բուժման համար, քանի որ այն նպաստում է արյան քաղցկեղի բջիջների ոչնչացմանը:

Գիտնականների կողմից նման հայտարարություն արվել է այն ժամանակ, երբ նրանք կարողացել են ձկան յուղով պատրաստված բաղադրության միջոցով ամբողջովին բուժել արյան քաղցկեղի բջիջներ ունեցող մկանը:

Այս բաղադրությունն անվնավել է D12-PGJ3, որն ուղղված է խրոնիկական լեյկիմիայի բջիջների ոչնչացմանը:
