Կատարի Պետության էմիրի դիվանում տեղի է ունեցել պաշտոնական այցով Կատարի Պետությունում գտնվող Հայաստանի Հանրապետության նախագահ Արմեն Սարգսյանի և Կատարի Պետության էմիր Թամիմ բին Համադ Ալ Թանիի առանձնազրույցը։ Այս մասին հայտնեցին ՀՀ նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության հետ կապերի վարչությունից:

Բարի գալուստ մաղթելով Հայաստանի Հանրապետության նախագահին և ընդգծելով իրենց երկար տարիների անձնական գերազանց փոխհարաբերությունները՝ էմիր Թամիմ բին Համադ Ալ Թանին շնորհավորել է Կատարում Հայաստանի դեսպանության բացման առթիվ` նշելով, որ մեր երկրները հրաշալի հարաբերություններ ունեն։

Նախագահ Սարգսյանը շնորհակալություն է հայտնել էմիրին Հայաստանի Հանրապետության քաղաքացիների համար Կատար մուտքի արտոնագրի պահանջի չեղարկմանը, ինչպես նաև Կատարի Պետությունում Հայաստանի Հանրապետության դեսպանության բացմանը ցուցաբերած գործուն աջակցության համար։ Նախագահը վստահություն է հայտնել, որ մուտքի արտոնագրերի պահանջի չեղարկումը դրական կազդի տնտեսական, մշակութային, գիտական, կրթական և հատկապես զբոսաշրջային կապերի հետագա խթանման վրա։

Հայաստանի նախագահն ու Կատարի էմիրն ընդգծել են երկու բարեկամ երկրների միջև փոխգործակցության մեծ ներուժը, հարաբերությունների ընդլայնման ու ամրապնդման կարևորությունը։ Որպես համագործակցության հնարավոր ուղղություններ՝ նրանք նշել են առողջապահության, կրթության, գիտահետազոտական ոլորտները, ինչպես նաև Դոհայում ուսանելու հնարավորությունը։

Նախագահ Սարգսյանն ասել է, որ շատ տպավորված է Կատարի հիմնադրամի գործունեությամբ։ «Սա նաև միջազգային կենտրոն է և շատ ընդհանրություններ ունի զարգացման մեր տեսլականի հետ,- նշել է նախագահ Սարգսյանը,- ուստի որոշել ենք ձևավորել համատեղ աշխատանքային խումբ՝ հստակեցնելու համագործակցության ուղղությունները»։ 

Նախագահն ընդգծել է գիտական, կրթական, տեխնոլոգիական ոլորտներում գործակցության մեծ ներուժի առկայությունը՝ այս համատեքստում նշելով փոխգործակցության հնարավորությունը Հայաստանում նորագույն տեխնոլոգիաների և գիտության զարգացմանն ուղղված՝ ATOM (Advanced Tomorrow) նախագահական նախաձեռնության շրջանակում։
