Այժմ արդեն 28-ամյա Էմմա Օ՛Նեյլը, ով Բրիտանիայից է, ժամանակին համարվում էր երկրի ամենանիհար մարդկանցից մեկը։ Նրա երբևէ ամենանվազ քաշը եղել է 18 կգ։ Բժիշկները պարբերաբար զգուշացնում էին նրան, որ եթե լուրջ քայլեր չձեռնարկի այդ վիճակից դուրս գալու համար, ապա նա հավանաբար երբևէ չի կարողանա երեխա ունենալ։

Տարիներ առաջ, երբ նա հանդիպեց իր ապագա ամուսնուն, որոշեց, որ չի կարող նրան զրկել հայր դառնալու իրավունքից։ Հենց ամուսինն էլ նրան օգնեց ազատվել անորեքսիայից։

«Մենք միմյանց շատ ենք սիրում։ Ամուսինս պարբերաբար համեղ ուտելիքներ էր պատրաստում ինձ համար, հոգեբանական օգնություն ցուցաբերում։ Նա միշտ կողքիս է եղել, և հենց երեխա ունենալու մեծ ցանկությունն էլ ինձ օգնեց հաղթահարել անորեքսիան և վերադառնալ նորմալ կյանք»,- պատմել է նա։

Աղջկա խոսքով՝ նա անգամ չէր կարողանում անկողնու վրա պառկել, քանի որ ոսկորներն սկսում էին ցավել, իսկ մաշկի վրա այտուցներ էին առաջանում։

Ոչ շատ երկար ժամանակ անց, երբ Էմման արդեն 44 կգ էր կշռում, հղիացավ։ Հղիության ողջ ընթացքում Էմման պարբերաբար ցավեր էր ունենում, որոնց պատճառն իր թույլ մկանային և ոսկրային համակարգն էր։ Մոտ 9 ամիս բժիշկների անմիջական վերահսկողության տակ լինելուց հետո նա ծննդաբերեց․ բարեբախտաբար, երեխան լիովին առողջ էր։

Վերջերս նա լույս աշխարհ բերեց իր երկրորդ դստերը։ Այժմ Էմման երջանիկ կյանք է վարում և միաժամանակ անում է ամեն բան՝ օգնելու անորեքսիայով տառապողներին դուրս գալ այդ դժոխային վիճակից։
