2019 թ. հունվարի 1-ից Հայաստանի սահմանին մատակարարվող բնական գազի գինը փոխվեց՝ հասնելով հազար խորանարդ մետրի համար 165 դոլարի: Այսուհանդերձ, գնի այս փոփոխությունից հետո սպառողներին մատակարարվող բնական գազի սակագինը չփոխվեց։ Հետհեղափոխական ժամանակներ էին, և կառավարությունն իրեն նման ճոխություն թույլ տալ չէր կարող, սխալ կհասկանային:

2019 թ. հունվարի 1-ից բնական գազի գնի տարբերությամբ առաջացող վնասները փոխհատուցվում են «Գազպրոմ Արմենիա» ՓԲԸ-ի ներքին ռեսուրսների (խնայողությունների) հաշվին, ինչը, բնական է, երկար շարունակվել չէր կարող։

Թե ինչն է ստիպել «Գազպրոմ Արմենիա» ՓԲԸ-ին, լինելով շահույթ հետապնդող կազմակերպություն, պարզապես հրաժարվել իր հիմնական գործառույթից, ստացվող միջոցներից և աշխատել վնասով, դժվար է ասել։ Դրա փոխարեն «Գազպրոմ Արմենիա» ՓԲԸ-ն կրճատել է ներդրումների ծավալները։ Սրա հետևանքը պատկերացնելու համար պետք է հասկանալ, որ այս ընկերության կողմից կատարվող ներդրումների կրճատումը ենթադրում է համակարգի աշխատանքի վատթարացում, ինչն էլ բերում է գազի մատակարարման ոլորտում բնական կորուստների աճի։

Սակայն վերջին հաշվով սակագնի որոշման մեթոդաբանության համաձայն, գազի կորուստների փոխհատուցումը ներառվում և ներառվելու է սակագնի հաշվարկում։

2019 թ. դեկտեմբերի 19-ին «Գազպրոմ Արմենիա» ՓԲԸ-ի գլխավոր տնօրենը նշել էր, որ գազի սակագնից է կախված, թե համակարգում ինչպիսի աշխատանքներ և ինչ ծավալով կարելի է անցկացնել։ Այժմ սակագինը հայտնի չէ, ուստի 2020 թ. ներդրումներն ավելի քիչ ծավալով են նշված, քան 2021-2024 թթ.։

Գլխավոր տնօրենի խոսքով՝ դեռ պարզ չէ, թե ինչ սակագին կլինի, դժվար է կանխատեսել, թե որքան միջոցներ կունենանք և ինչ աշխատանքների համար դրանք կբավականացնեն։

Հանրային ծառայությունները կարգավորող հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Գարեգին Բաղրամյանը հայտարարեց, որ չի բացառվում, որ «Գազպրոմ Արմենիա» ընկերությունը հայտ ներկայացնի Հանրային ծառայությունները կարգավորող հանձնաժողով՝ սպառողի համար գազի սակագինը բարձրացնելու համար, նշելով, որ գազի գնի չբարձրացման մասին հայտարարությունը վերաբերում էր միայն սահմանին վաճառվող գազին, բայց դա չի նշանակում, որ «Գազպրոմ Արմենիա»-ն չի կարող հայտ ներկայացնել հանձնաժողով։
