Թուրքիայի եւ Ռուսաստանի նախագահները կարող են հանդիպել՝ Իդլիբի շուրջ իրավիճակը քննարկելու համար: Այս մասին, ՏԱՍՍ-ի հաղորդմամբ, հայտարարել է Թուրքիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Մեւլյութ Չավուշօղլուն:

«Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը եւ Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինը հեռախոսազրույց են ունեցել, որի ժամանակ քննարկել են բոլոր հարցերը: Որոշում է ընդունվել շարունակել համատեղ աշխատանքը: Այժմ մենք սպասում ենք Ռուսաստանից պատվիրակության ժամանմանը: Դրանից հետո անհրաժեշտության դեպքում կհանդիպեն նախագահները: Մեր նպատակն է կանգնեցնել հարձակումները»,- ասել է նա:

Չավուշօղլուի խոսքով՝ Թուրքիան ակնկալում է, որ «Ռուսաստանը կկանգնեցնի հարձակումները, որոնցում Անկարային մեղադրում է Սիրիայի նախագահ Բաշար Ասադի ռեժիմը»: 

Թուրքական ավիացիան եւ հրետանին երկուշաբթի օրը հարվածներ էին հասցրել Իդլիբի 54 թիրախների ուղղությամբ, որի հետեւանքով «չեզոքացվել» էին 76 սիրիացի զինծառայողներ։ Գրոհը տեղի էր ունեցել ի պատասխան սիրիական բանակի կողմից թուրքական դիրքերի հրետակոծության, ինչի հետեւանքով զոհվել էին թուրք 5 զինվորական եւ 3 քաղաքացիական անձինք։

Սիրիայում Թշնամական կողմերի հաշտեցման ռուսական կենտրոնը հայտնել է, որ թուրք զինծառայողները երկուշաբթի գիշերը հայտնվել են կառավարական ուժերի հրետակոծության տակ, քանի որ թուրքական կողմը չէր նախազգուշացրել Ռուսաստանին իր տեղաշարժերի մասին։ Սիրիական զորքերը կրակ էին բացել ահաբեկիչների վրա, որոնք նահանջում էին դեպի Սարակիբու։

Փետրվարի 4-ին Էրդողանը եւ Պուտինը հեռախոսազրույց են ունեցել, որի ժամանակ պայմանավորվել են երկրների պաշտպանության նախարարությունների գծով բարելավել Սիրիայում գործողությունների համակարգումը:
