Այսօր Ջրային պաշարների համաշխարհային օրն է

Ամեն տարի մարտի 22-ին նշվում է Ջրային պաշարների համաշխարհային օրը (World Water Day կամ World Day of Water)։ Այն նշելու գաղափարը հնչել է շրջակա միջավայրի պահպանության եւ զարգացման ՄԱԿ համաժողովում, որը կայացել է 1992թ․՝ Ռիո դե Ժանեյրոյում, գրում է Calend-ը։

Ջուրը կյանքի «հիմնաքարն» է։ Ջուրն անհրաժեշտ է մարդկությանը։ Ջրի կաթիլը ուժ ունի, ջրի կաթիլը անհրաժեշտ է բոլորին։ Թեեւ երկրագնդի մակերեւույթի 70 տոկոսը ջրով է պատված, դրա 97,5 տոկոսը աղի ջուր է։ Մնացած 2,5 տոկոս քաղցրահամ ջրի 68,7 տոկոսը սառցադաշտերի եւ սառցաբեկորների սառած ջուրն է։ Երկրագնդի ջրի պաշարների միայն 1 տոկոսն է հասանելի մարդու կողմից օգտագործման համար։ Այսօրվա դրությամբ ավելի քան 663 մլն մարդ իր բնակության վայրին մոտ չունի խմելու ջրի աղբյուր։

20-րդ դարում ջրի օգտագործումն ավելացել է 6 անգամ եւ ավելի քան 2 անգամ գերազանցում է բնակչության աճի տեմպերին։ Զարգացած երկրներում քաղցրահամ ջրի պաշարների 30 տոկոսը կորչում է արտահոսքի պատճառով, իսկ որոշ խոշոր քաղաքներում կորուստները կարող են հասնել 70 տոկոսի։

Միացյալ ազգերի կազմակերպության Գլխավոր ասամբլեան, ընդունելով 1993թ․ փետրվարի 22-ի 47/193 բանձեւը, մարտի 22-ը հայտարարել է Ջրային պաշարների համաշխարհային օր։ Շրջակա միջավայրի պահպանության եւ զարգացման ՄԱԿ համաժողովի խորհրդատվության համաձայն, այդ օրը սկսել են նշել 1993 թվականից։

Պետությունները կոչված էին Ջրային պաշարների համաշխարհային օրը նվիրել ՄԱԿ խորհրդատվությունների իրականացմանը եւ ազգային մակարդակով որոշակի գործողություններ կատարելուն։

Ամեն տարի ՄԱԿ-ի հաստատություններից մեկը նշանակվում է Ջրային պաշարների համաշխարհային օրվա միջոցառումների համակարգող եւ պատասխանատվություն է կրում Համակարգման վարչական հանձնաժողովի ղեկավարությամբ նոր թեմա առաջադրելու համար։

Ջրային պաշարների համաշխարհային օրվա հիմնական նպատակներն են՝

— Նպաստել բնակչությանը խմելու ջրով ապահովելու խնդրի լուծման համար համապատասխան միջոցառումների ընդունմանը,

— Իրազեկել հասարակությանը քաղցրահամ ջրի եւ ընդհանրապես ջրային պաշարների պաշտպանության ու պահպանման կարեւորության մասին,

— Ջրային պաշարների համաշխարհային օրվա տոնակատարության մեջ ընդգրկել կառավարություններին, միջազգային գործակալություններին, հասարակական կազմակերպություններին եւ մասնավոր հատվածին։
