Կարո՞ղ է արդյոք հոտառության կորուստը համարվել կորոնավիրուսի ախտանշան։ Բազմաթիվ մարդիկ, որոնք բախվել են COVID-19-ի հետ, նկարագրել են այլ ախտանշանների հետ մեկտեղ նաեւ հոտառության կորուստը։ Սակայն այդ հարցին դեռեւս միանշանակ պատասխան չկա։

Բժիշկներն անվանում են հոտառության կորուստը անոսմիա։ Դա կարող է լինել բնածին, ինչպես նաեւ առաջանալ տրավմայի, նյարդաբանական վիճակի, նաեւ վիրուսային վարակի դեպքում։ COVID-19-ը հենց վիրուսային վարակ է։

Կանադայից կլինիկական նյարդաբան Փոլ Մասիավսկին պնդում է, որ կորոնավիրուսային վարակի դեպքում ասոմնիան, ամենայն հավանականությամբ, չի առաջանում քթի խցանման կամ գլխուղեղի ինչ-որ լուրջ վնասվածքի հետեւանքով։

Մասնագետի խոսքով՝ շնչառական վիրուսները (որոնց շարքին է պատկանում նաեւ նոր կորոնավիրուսը) կարող են վնասել քթում հոտառության ռեցեպտորները, որոնք անհրաժեշտ են տարբեր հոտեր զգալու համար։ Բացի այդ, այդպիսի վիրուսները կարող են հանգեցնել հոտառական նյարդի այտուցին, որը գտնվում է քթի խոռոչի լորձաթաղանթում։ Մասնագետի խոսքով՝ նյարդային ֆունկցիաների խանգարումը սովորաբար չի առաջացնում ցավի զգացում հիվանդների մոտ, եւ նրանք չեն զգում խթի ուժեղ խցանում այդ ժանամակ։

Վիրուսային վարակների դեպքում անոսմիան կարող է զգալի չափով կրճատել հոտառությունը եւ անգամ առաջացնել դրա լրիվ կորուստ, դեռ ավելին, խնդիրը կարող է բավականին երկար տեւել, եւ առողջացումից հետո այն կարող է չվերանալ։

Մասնագետի խոսքով՝ ժամանակի ընթացքում որոշ հիվանդների հոտառությունը կարող է լավանալ, սակայն նա մտահոգվում է, որ ռեցեպտորներին եւ նյարդին հասցված վնասը մեծամասամբ կարող է դառնալ քրոնիկական։

Իհարկե, նա վստահ է, որ COVID-19-ն ավելի հաճախ է առաջացնում ասոմնիա, քան մրսածությունը։ Հնարավոր է, որ կորոնավիրուսի նկատմամբ մեծ ուշադրության պատճառով հիվանդները պարզապես ավելի հաճախ են խոսում այնպիսի ախտանշանների մասին, ինչպիսիք է հոտառության կորուստը՝ ի տարբերություն այլ վիրուսային վարակներով հիվանդանալու դեպքում։

Այսպես թե այնպես, եթե հոտառության կորստի եւ կորոնավիրուսի հաստատման միջեւ կորելյացիան հաստատվի, անոսմիան կարող է հայտնվել COVID-19-ի տարբերակիչ ախտանշանների ցանկում։
