Շատերը կարծում են, որ COVID-19 նոր կորոնավիրուսի համաճարակը նմանվում է հասարակ գրիպի համաճարակին: Էկվադորում, որտեղ առողջապահությունն ի զորու չէ կորոնավիրուսի դեմ պայքարելու, սարսափելի երևույթներ են տեղի ունենում:

Պետության խոշորագույն նավահանգստային քաղաքում՝ Գուայակիլեում, կորոնավիրուսի հետևանքով մահացած անձանց հարազատները ստիպված են նրանց դիակները նետել փողոցներում՝ հույս ունենալով, որ որոշ ժամանակ անց ինչ-որ մեկը դրանք կհավաքի այնտեղից: Քաղաքում այս պահին կորոնավիրուսի պիկն է. շուրջ 150 դիակ ընկած է քաղաքի փողոցներում, շատերը մահացել են սեփական տներում, և նրանց ոչ ոք չի պատրաստվում թաղել:
