Մոդել դառնալն այսօր նորաձեւության ընդունված ստանդարտներին չհամապատասխանող աջիկների համար հեռավոր երազանք չէ: Նորաձեւության աշխարհը, կարծես, գնալով հասանելի է դառնում ոչ միայն 90-60-90 չափսեր ու կատարյալ դիմագծեր ունեցող աղջիկների համար, այլեւ նրանց, ովքեր կարողանում են բարձրացնել իրենց ձայնը՝ ապացուցելով, որ նորաձեւությունը չպետք է ճանաչի ստանդարտներ՝ այն ստեղծված է բոլորի համար՝ անկախ չափսերից, հասակից, մազի կամ մաշկի գույներից:

Ժամանակին շատ աղջիկներ են դարձել նորաձեւության «կանոնների» զոհերը: Հետեւելով պոդիումով քայլող մոդելներին՝ շատերն էին բարդույթավերում՝ բացահայտելով, որ իրենք չեն համապատասխանում բարձր նորաձեւության ստանդարտներին: Սա ստիպեց աղջիկներին ու կանանց կորցնել ինքնավստահությունը եւ փորձել նիհարել՝ նմանվելով մոդելներին, ինչի հետեւանքով շատերը ձեռք բերեցին միայն անորեքսիա եւ անառողջ ապրելակերպ, ինչը շատ հաճախ ողբերգական ավարտ ունեցավ ոչ միայն էկրանի հակառակ կողմում գտնվող հեռուստադիտողի, այլեւ հենց իրենց՝ մոդելների համար:

Այսօր ամեն ինչ արվում է նման դժբախտություններից խուսափելու եւ աղջիկների ինքնավստահությունը բարձրացնելու համար: Դրան նպաստում են նաեւ այն մոդելները, որոնք չեն համապատասխանում նորաձեւության չափանիշներին, բայց նրանք թելադրել են իրենց թրենդն ու փոխել շատերի պատկերացումներն ընդունված ստանդարտների վերաբերյալ: Ահա՝ նրանցից մի քանիսը:
