Բեյրութում ապրող հեռուստատեսային վետերան Բրենթ Սեդլերը պատմել է իր տնից շուրջ 1,5 կմ հեռավորության վրա՝ նավահանգստում օգոստոսի 4-ին տեղի ունեցած պայթյունի մանրամասներն ու դրա ազդեցությունն իր տան և ընտանիքի վրա: Պատմությունը հրապարակել է Daily Mail պարբերականը:

Նա պատմել է, որ այդ հրե գունդը նման չէր ոչ մի այլ հրդեհի, որ նա տեսել է իր կյանքում: Դա նման էր հրաբխի:

Միլիվայրկյանների ընթացքում սեյսմիկ ցնցումները տարածվել են ամբողջ քաղաքով` մահ ու ավերածություն սփռելով:

Պայթյունն այնքան ուժգին է եղել, որ այն լսվել է ամբողջ Միջերկրական ծովում, Կիպրոսում, դրանից էլ շատ ավելի հեռու, այն նման էր 75 տարի առաջ Հիրոսիմայի վրա նետված ռումբին:

Սեդլերը նշում է, որ բարեբախտաբար, ինքն ու ընտանիքը պայթյունի հետևանքով ընդամենը թեթև քերծվածքներ են ստացել:

Հիշեցնենք, որ Լիբանանի մայրաքաղաքում Բեյրութում փորձում են ուշքի գալ օգոստոսի 4-ի երեկոյան որոտացած աղետալի պայթյունից:

Լիբանանյան լրատվամիջոցների նոր տեղեկությունների համաձայն՝ պայթյունի հետևանքով զոհերի թիվը գերազանցել է 135-ը, վիրավորները 5 000-ից ավելի են։ Զոհերից 11-ը հայ են: Տասնյակ մարդիկ դեռևս անհետ կորած են համարվում: Ավելի վաղ հաղորդվում էր 100 զոհի և 4000 վիրավորի մասին:

Բեյրութն օգոստոսի 4-ի երեկոյան որոտացած հզոր պայթյունի հետևանքով աղետի գոտի է հայտարարվել, քաղաքում երկու շաբաթով՝ օգոստոսի 4-18-ը, արտակարգ դրություն է սահմանվել:

Լիբանանի Անվտանգության բարձրագույն խորհրդի արտահերթ նիստում վարչապետ Հասան Դիաբը հայտարարել էր, որ աղետի մեղավորները խիստ պատասխանատվության են ենթարկվելու:

«Բացարձակապես անընդունելի է, որ վեց տարի շարունակ նավահանգստի պահեստում 2750 տոննա ամոնիումի նիտրատ է պահվել, և նավահանգստի կառավարիչների կողմից պրոֆիլակտիկ որևէ գործողություն չի իրականացվել»,- շեշտել է Դիաբը:

Բեյրութում որոտացած ավերիչ պայթյունի հետևանքով մեծ վնասներ են կրել նաև հայկական համայնքային կառույցները:

«Վնասվել են Անթիլիասի Մայր Տաճարի, Վեհարանի, հայագիտական և մանկավարժական կենտրոնների, ինչպես նաև՝ «Կիլիկիա» թանգարանի դռները, պատուհանները, ջահերը»,- ասված է կաթողիկոսարանի տարածած հաղորդագրությունում:
