Սպարապետ Վազգեն Սարգսյանի եղբայր Արմեն Սարգսյանի որդին՝ Կարլեն Սարգսյանը ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում ադրբեջանցիների կողմից սպարապետի արձանի պղծման կապակցությամբ գրառում է կատարել, որում ասվում է.

«Ժողովուրդ ջան, Ձեր ցավը տանեմ: Թե՛ ես, թե՛ մեր ընտանիքը, հավատացեք, ուր ասես, ում ասես դիմել ենք, խնդրել ենք:

Մենք իշխանություն չենք, ո՛չ Հայաստանում, ո՛չ Արցախում, Պաշտպանության ու մշակույթի նախարար չենք, որ կարողանանք Սպարապետի արձանը տեղափոխել, իսկ խիստ անհրաժեշտության դեպքում էլ համաձայն էինք պայթեցնել:

Ասեմ ավելին, նույնիսկ առանց տեղափոխելու խնդրել եմ պայթեցնել, բայց ոչ ոք ականջալուր չեղավ ու ոչ ոք չօգնեց:

Ժողովուրդ ջան, ինչո՞ւ է ձեզ թվում, որ չենք մտածել, բայց պիտի Հայաստանի ու Արցախի իշխանությունները օգնեին: Ինչ անենք, իրենք հանձնելուց գիտեին, գոնե հանձնելուց պիտի տրաքացնեին կամ պայմանավորվեին և նախօրոք տեղափոխեին, նոր հանձնեին:

Եթե ուրիշ ձև գիտեք, ասեք, օգնեք տեղափոխենք: Ես ամեն ինչի պատրաստ եմ, նույնիսկ Շուշին հանձնելուց առաջ եմ ասել, որ եթե զգաք, որ էդ ազերիները մտնում են Շուշի՝ տրաքացրեք արձանը, որ մեր հերոսը, Արցախն ազատագրած մեր Սպարապետը բազմաթիվ հայ քաջորդիների հետ չմնա ազերիների ձեռքում:

Ժողովուրդ ջան, խոսքերով չէ, որ պետք է արտահայտվեմ, թե ինչ ցավ է կուտակված մեջ, թե՛ Սպարապետի, թե՛ մեր հերոս ու առյուծ տղերքի ազատագրած Արցախի ամեն մի թիզ հողի համար կենացմահու պայքար տված բազմաթիվ հերոսների շիրիմներ նույնպես մնացին թշնամուն:

Խոնարհվում եմ 90-ական թվականների, Ապրիլյան ու այս պատերազմներում իրենց կյանքը հայրենիքին զոհաբերած բոլոր նահատակվածների շիրիմների առաջ:
