Թուրքիայի իշխանությունները՝ նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի գլխավորությամբ աննախադեպ կերպով ոչնչացնում են մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանությունն ու ժողովրդավարական նորմերը: Այս մասին նշվում է միջազգային իրավապաշտպան Human Rights Watch կազմակերպության նոր զեկույցում:

Էրդողանի որոշմամբ Թուրքիան մարտի 19-ին դուրս եկավ ԵԽ՝ Կանանց նկատմամբ բռնության և ընտանեկան բռնության կանխարգելման ու դրա դեմ պայքարի մասին կոնվենցիայից, որը հայտնի է Ստամբուլյան կոնվենցիա անունով: Դրանից երկու օր առաջ երկրի գլխավոր դատախազը դիմել էր Սահմանադրական դատարան՝ քրդամետ Ժողովուրդների դեմոկրատական կուսակցությունը փակելու հարցով: Նույն օրը կուսակցության պատգամավորներից մեկը զրկվել էր պատգամավորական մանդատից:

«Նախագահ Էրդողանը թիրախավորում է ցանկացած կառույց կամ հասարակության հատվածի, որը կանգնում է Թուրքիայի հասարակությունը վերաձևավորելու իր ջանքերի դեմ: Վերջին զարգացումներն ընդդեմ խորհրդարանական ընդդիմության, քրդերի, կանանց ուղղված են ապահովելու նախագահի իշխանությունը՝ խախտելով մարդու իրավունքներն ու ժողովրդավարական երաշխիքները»,- հայտարարել է Human Rights Watch-ի գործադիր տնօրեն Քենեթ Ռոթը:

Նա նշել է, որ ընտրությունների արդյունքում 11.7 տոկոս ձայն հավաքած և 55 պատգամավորական մանդատ ձեռք բերած Ժողովուրդների դեմոկրատական կուսակցությունը փակելու գործընթաց նախաձեռնելը վիրավորում է քաղաքական հավաքների ու արտահայտման իրավունքը: «Այս քայլով կարող է ժխտվել շուրջ 6 մլն ընտրողների ընտրական իրավունքը»,- նշել է Ռոթը: Նա հայտարարել է, որ ԵՄ առաջնորդները չպետք է լուռ մնան Թուրքիայում կատարվող իրադարձությունների նկատմամբ:
