««Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթի տեղեկություններով՝ ՀՀ նախագահ Արմեն Սարգսյանը նոր հավակնություններ ունի եւ բանակցությունների մեջ է իշխանությունների հետ: Մասնավորապես, նա, կարծես թե, չի ցանկանում հեշտությամբ հրաժեշտ տալ նախագահի իր աթոռին եւ մտադիր է երկարաձգել իր պաշտոնավարումը: Նկատենք, սակայն, որ դա հնարավոր կլինի միայն սահմանադրական փոփոխությունների պարագայում: Բանն այն է, որ ՀՀ Սահմանադրության 124-րդ հոդվածն ասում է. «Նույն անձը Հանրապետության նախագահ կարող է ընտրվել միայն մեկ անգամ»: Այսինքն՝ որպեսզի Արմեն Սարգսյանը շարունակի պաշտոնավարել 2023 թվականից հետո, սահմանադրական փոփոխություններ են անհրաժեշտ, սակայն սրանով ամեն ինչ չի ավարտվում:

«Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթի տեղեկությունների համաձայն՝ ՀՀ նախագահ Արմեն Սարգսյանը իշխանությունների հետ բանակցությունների մեջ է եւ իշխանական վերնախավից պահանջել է սահմանադրական փոփոխությունների միջոցով իր լիազորությունները ընդլայնել՝ նշելով, որ այս պահին ինքը որեւէ ձեւով չի կարողանում խառնվել ինչ-որ մի պրոցեսի, ինչի համար էլ իրեն լիազորություններ են պետք: Ըստ իշխանական շրջանակներում պտտվող լուրերի՝ Սարգսյանն ասել է, որ եթե իր լիազորությունների ընդլայնման գործընթաց սկսվի, տարբեր օրենքների հարցով այլեւս Սահմանադրական դատարան չի դիմելու: Մենք փորձեցինք տեղեկությունը ճշտել նախագահի մամուլի պատասխանատու Հասմիկ Պետրոսյանից, սակայն վերջինս ասաց, որ ինքը տեղյակ չէ, պետք է գրավոր հարցում ուղարկենք»,-գրում է թերթը։
