«Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթը գրում է․ «Եվրախորհրդարանի պատգամավոր, ՀՀ-ԵՄ բարեկամական խմբի ղեկավար Լուկաս Ֆուրլասն արդեն հարց է ներկայացրել Եվրահանձնաժողովին, որ պատշաճ արձագանքեն Ադրբեջանի կողմից «պուրակի» բացմանը: «Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթի հետ զրույցում Ֆուրլասը նշեց. «Սա աննախադեպ սադրանք եւ վիրավորանք է զոհված հայ զինվորների նկատմամբ, որն իրականացվում է Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիեւի կողմից: Հագնելով զինվորական համազգեստ եւ կեցվածք ընդունելով ճակատամարտում զոհված հայ զինվորների հարյուրավոր սաղավարտների առջեւ՝ նա տպավորություն է ստեղծում, որ պատերազմն ավարտված չէ, եւ ատելություն է սերմանում ժողովուրդների միջեւ: Ես արդեն հարց եմ ներկայացրել Եվրահանձնաժողովին, թե ինչպես է գործնականում մտադիր արձագանքել Ադրբեջանի նախագահի նողկալի գործողությանը: Դատապարտումը պետք է լինի հավաքական եւ տա ԵՄ միասնության ուղերձը: Բայց, դրանից դուրս, այն պետք է լինի գործնական եւ արդյունավետ»:

Ապրիլի 12-ին նա՝ որպես զեկուցող, մասնակցել է Ադրբեջանից հայ գերիների անհապաղ ազատ արձակման եւ վերադարձի հարցով քննարկմանը, որին մասնակցել է նաեւ ՀՀ մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպան Արման Թաթոյանը: Ֆուրլասը, «Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթի հետ զրույցում անդրադառնալով քննարկմանը, նշեց, որ անհայտ կորածների ողբերգությունը պետք է անհապաղ ավարտվի: «Միջազգային հանրությունը պետք է ապահովի բոլոր գերիների արագ վերադարձը: Հայ գերիների պահումը եւ վատ վերաբերմունքը պատերազմական հանցագործություն է, քանի որ բոլոր հայ գերիները օրինականորեն համարվում են «ռազմագերիներ»», – նշեց Եվրախորհրդարանի պատգամավորը»։
