ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենը դադարեցրել է ԱՄՆ-Մեքսիկա սահմանային պատի շինարարությունը, որի համար նախկին վարչակազմը գումարներ էր հատկացրել երկրի պաշտպանոթյան համար նախատեսված ֆինանսական միջոցներից:

Նման հայտարարությամբ է հանդես եկել Պենտագոնի մամուլի քարտուղար Ջամալ Բրաունը, նշելով՝ այսուհետ այդ գումարները կծախսվեն պատի շինարարության հետևանքով առաջացած բնապահպանական խնդիրներ վերացնելու նպատակով, գրում է Reuters լրատվական գործակալությունը:

Բրաունի խոսքով՝ բոլոր ֆինանսական միջոցները կվերադարձվեն այն բանկային հաշիվներին, որոնցից ֆինանսավորվում է զինվորականների երեխաների համար նախատեսված դպրոցների, արտերկրում ռազմական օբյեկտների շինարարութունը:

Հիշեցնենք՝ Բայդենը նախագահի պաշտոնը ստանձնելուց անմիջապես հետո ժամանակավորապես դադարեցրել էր պատի շինարարությունը՝ 60-օրյա մշտադիտարկում անցկացնելու նպատակով: Ժամկետը բավականին երկար ժամանակ է, ինչ սպառվել է, սակայն ներկայում հայտնի չէ՝ մշտադիտարկումներն ավարտվել են, թե ոչ:

Նշենք՝ ԱՄՆ նախկին նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփն ամեն տարի Կոնգրեսից 5 մլրդ դոլար էր խնդրում պատի շինարարությունն ավարտին հասցնելու համար: Այնուամենայնիվ, կոնգրեսականներն ԱՄՆ առաջնորդին իր ակնկալածից շատ ավելի քիչ գումար էին տրամադրում: Ստեղծված իրավիճակի պատճառով հանրապետականների ու դեմոկրատների միջև ծայր էին առել հակասություններ: 

Ինչպես ավելի վաղ տեղեկացրել էր Tert.am-ը՝ ԱՄՆ-Մեքսիկա սահմանին կառուցվող պատի ընդհանուր երկարությունը նախատեսվում էր հասցնել 3,14 հազար կիլոմետրի: Այժմ կառուցվել է դրա միայն 725 կիլոմետրը:
