Գավառի պատվավոր քաղաքացի, Ազգային ժողովի նախկին պատգամավոր, «Տիգրան Արզաքանցյան» հիմնադրամի հիմնադիր նախագահ Տիգրան Արզաքանցյանը շրջել է Գյումրիում, զրուցել տեղաբնակների հետ, ծանոթացել տեղի խնդիրներին: Նա Յոտ վերք Եկեղեցում աղոթք է բարձրացրել առ Աստված հայ ազգի եւ հայրենիքի զարգացման ու բարգավաճման համար: Եկեղեցու բակում Տիգրան Արզաքանցյանը հանդիպել է Շիրակի թեմի առաջնորդ Գերաշնորհ Տեր Միքայել Արքեպիսկոպոս Աճապաղյանին, ապա ծաղիկներ խոնարհել 1988 թվականի երկրաշարժի Անմեղ զոհերի հուշարձանի մոտ: Նա իր խոսքում ընդգծել է, որ երկրաշարժից հետո իր հնարավորությունների սահմանում օգնել է գյումրեցիներին. Տիգրան Արզաքանցյանը եղել է նաեւ Սթիլ գրաֆիկայի թանգարանում:

«Գյումրին ինձ միշտ հարազատ է եղել, մենք ունենք Գյումրիի հետ մեծ պատմություն՝ մեր հայոց աշխարհում: Այն հայ ազգի ճարտարապետության կենտրոնն է եղել, մշակույթի կենտրոնն է եղել ու մենք Գյումրիում ունենք հարուստ գաղափարով ժողովուրդ, արվեստասեր ժողովուրդ, հումորով ժողովուրդ»:

Այս ամենից զատ Տիգրան Արզաքանցյանը խոսել է նաև ողջ հայության ու գյումրեցիների առաջ ծառացած լրջագույն խնդիրներից մեկի մասին․

«Ամենամեծ, դժվար ցավը, բոլորիս ցավը, գիտենք, թե որն է։ Այսօր մենք մեր գերիներին չենք կարողանում վերադարձնել, ու հենց այդ խնդիրն է, որ մենք բարձրացնում ենք: Մենք ունենք զոհեր, որոնց թվում են նաեւ գյումրեցի հայրենասեր տղաներ, ովքեր իրենց կյանքն են նվիրել մեր հայրենիքին, մեր Արցախին: Նրանք հերոսաբար են մեկնել մարտի, նույն ոգով էլ կռվել, վիրավորնել, նրանցից շատերը հաշմանդամ դարձել ու գերի ընկել»,- ասել է Տիգրան Արզաքանցյանը իր խոսքում՝ ընդգծելով, որ բոլոր նմանօրինակ լուրջ հարցերը հայ ազգը կարող է լուծել բացառապե միասնականության շնորհիվ։
