Ցավով տեղեկացնում ենք, որ 85 տարեկան հասակում կյանքից հեռացավ հայ մեծանուն ֆիզիկոս, ՀՀ ԳԱԱ ակադեմիկոս, Երևանի պետական համալսարանի Գուրգեն Սահակյանի անվան տեսական ֆիզիկայի ամբիոնի պատվավոր վարիչ Էդվարդ Վարդանի Չուբարյանը։

Այս մաիսն հայտնում է Երևանի պետական համալսարանը։

«Ցավակցում ենք ընտանիքի անդամներին և հարազատներին»,- ասված է հայտարարության մեջ։

Էդվարդ Չուբարյանը ծնվել է 1936 թ. մայիսի 5-ին Սպիտակ քաղաքում։ 1953 թ. ոսկե մեդալով ավարտել է Ձերժինսկու անվան N 20 դպրոցը և նույն տարում ընդունվել է ԵՊՀ՝ այն ժամանակ ֆիզմաթ ֆակուլտետի ֆիզիկայի բաժինը։ Համալսարանն ավարտելուց հետո՝ 1958-1961 թթ., Է. Չուբարյանն ուսումը շարունակել է ԵՊՀ ասպիրանտուրայում՝ տեսական ֆիզիկայի ամբիոնում, այնուհետև՝ 1961-1965 թթ., աշխատել է ՀԽՍՀ ԳԱ կենտրոնական գիտահետազոտական ֆիզիկատեխնիկական լաբորատորիայում։ Թեկնածուական ատենախոսությունը պաշտպանել է 1964 թ., իսկ 1965 թ․-ից նա աշխատանքի է անցել ԵՊՀ տեսական ֆիզիկայի ամբիոնում՝ սկզբում որպես ավագ դասախոս, 1967 թվականից՝ որպես դոցենտ, իսկ 1975 թվականից՝ դոկտորական ատենախոսությունը պաշտպանելուց հետո (1972 թ.)՝ որպես ամբիոնի պրոֆեսոր։ 1965-1970 թթ. համատեղությամբ աշխատել է նաև ՀՀ ԳԱԱ Բյուրականի աստղադիտարանում։ 1985-2000 թթ. և 2006-2013 թթ. Էդվարդ Չուբարյանը եղել է տեսական ֆիզիկայի ամբիոնի վարիչ։ 1991-2006 թթ. աշխատել է ԵՊՀ բնագիտական ֆակուլտետների գծով պրոռեկտորի պաշտոնում։ 1996 թ. ընտրվել է ՀՀ ԳԱԱ ակադեմիկոս։ Մինչև 2018 թ. ղեկավարել է տեսական ֆիզիկայի գիտահետազոտական լաբորատորիան։

Ակադեմիկոս Չուբարյանը հեղինակ է շուրջ 150-ից ավելի գիտական աշխատանքների և բուհական դասագրքերի։ Դրանք զեկուցվել են նախկին միութենական ու միջազգային գիտաժողովներում և լայն ճանաչում են գտել ինչպես նախկին միության, այնպես էլ արտասահմանյան գիտական շրջանակներում:

Կրթությանը մատուցած իր ուրույն ծառայությունների և անձնական մեծ ներդրման համար Է. Վ. Չուբարյանը 1984 թ. պարգևատրվել է Խաչատուր Աբովյանի մեդալով: 1970 թ. նրան շնորհվել է Հայաստանի Լենինյան կոմերիտմիության մրցանակ` «Առանցքահամաչափ ձգողական դաշտերը Էյնշտեյնի տեսության մեջ» աշխատանքի համար, 1985 թ. պարգևատրվել է ՀՍՍՀ «Ժողովրդական կրթության գերազանցիկ» պատվո նշանով: Էդվարդ Չուբարյանը պարգևատրվել է ԵՊՀ Ոսկե մեդալով, Ֆ.

Նանսենի հուշամեդալով: 2006 թ. նրան շնորհվել է Գիտության վաստակավոր գործչի կոչում:
