Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիևը և Հայաստանի վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը, չնայած բոլոր դժվարություններին, քաղաքական իմաստություն դրսևորեցին, երբ որոշեցին դադարեցնել արյունահեղությունը Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում։ Այդ մասին «ՏԱՍՍ»-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ հայտարարել է Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինը ՝ ելույթ ունենալով «Վալդայ» միջազգային ակումբի նիստում:

«Նախ, ես պետք է իմ հարգանքն արտահայտեմ ինչպես Ադրբեջանի նախագահի, այնպես էլ Հայաստանի վարչապետի քաղաքական իմաստությանը: Այնուամենայնիվ, չնայած իրադարձությունների ողջ ողբերգությանը, նրանց հաջողվեց վեր կանգնել քաղաքականությունից և շատ պատասխանատու որոշում կայացնել: Դեռևս կան կարևոր ասպեկտներ, և մասնավորապես, անհրաժեշտ է պայմաններ ստեղծել տարածաշրջանում երկարաժամկետ կարգավորման համար, այս պայմանները կարող են ստեղծվել միայն այն դեպքում, եթե երկու կողմերն ընդունեն ձեռք բերված պայմանավորվածությունները որպես երկարաժամկետ։ Ես ուզում եմ ընդգծել խաղաղ գոյակցության առավելությունները: Եվ սա բոլորի շահերից է»,- ասել է Պուտինը:

Հայաստանը և Ադրբեջանը կարող են լուծել սահմանի հարցը խորհրդային շրջանի քարտեզների հիման վրա, սակայն այդ գործընթացը փոխզիջումներ է պահանջում, ասել է նախագահը։

«Հիմա ամենակարևորը սահմանին տիրող իրավիճակի կարգավորումն է, և այստեղ, իհարկե, առանց Ռուսաստանի մասնակցության ոչինչ հնարավոր չէ անել: Այստեղ, թերևս, նույնիսկ մենք ուրիշի կարիք չունենք, բացի երկու կողմերից և Ռուսաստանից։ Ինչո՞ւ, որովհետև այստեղ շատ պարզ, պրագմատիկ բաներ կան, այո, որովհետև ռուսական բանակի գլխավոր շտաբում կան քարտեզներ, որոնք ցույց են տալիս, թե ինչպես է անցել միութենական հանրապետությունների միջև սահմանը խորհրդային տարիներին: Այնտեղ կան բաներ, որոնք նաև փոխզիջումներ են պահանջում: Միայն այն բանի համար, որ դա ճանաչվի, պարզ է, որ դա ձեռնտու է երկու կողմերին»,- ասել է Պուտինը։
