COVID-19- ի դեմ պատվաստումը մարդկության պատմության ամենազանգվածային նախաձեռնություններից է: Այդ ուղղությամբ գործուն ջանքերը շարունակվում են, քանի որ ոչ ոք ապահով չէ, քանի դեռ ապահով չեն բոլո՛րը:

Ահա թե ինչու ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ն ամբողջ աշխարհում համագործակցում է ԱՀԿ-ի, գործընկերների և կառավարությունների հետ՝ COVAX- ի միջոցով, որն առավելագույն ջանքեր է գործադրում COVID-19 պատվաստանյութերն առավել կարիքավորներին հասցնելու համար, անկախ նրանից թե աշխարհի որ կենտում են նրանք ապրում: COVAX-ի նպատակն է  2021թ.-ին COVID-19 պատվաստանյութի  2 միլիարդ դեղաչափ անվտանգ, արդյունավետ և մատչելի հասանելի դարձնել նրանց համար, ում դրանք առավել անհրաժեշտ են: Որպես COVAX- ի մաս, ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ը գլխավորում է COVID-19 պատվաստանյութերի գնումն ու առաքումը՝ հիմնվելով՝ աշխարհում պատվաստանյութերի ամենամեծ գնորդը լինելու, տասնամյակների փորձի վրա:

Հայաստանում ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ը, USAID- ի ֆինանսավորմամբ, աջակցում է առողջապահության համակարգի ամրապնդմանը՝ բուժհաստատություններին ապահովելով կենսական անհրաժեշտության սարքավորումներով և պարագաներով, բուժաշխատողներին վերապատրաստելով,  խնամատարներին զինելով COVID-19- ի վերաբերյալ գիտահեն տեղեկատվությամբ: ԱՄՆ ՄԶԳ ֆինանսավորմամբ, ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ը նաև կաջակցի Առողջապահության նախարարությանը` COVID-19 պատվաստանյութերի պապանման համար անհրաժեշտ սառը շղթայի/համակարգերի արդիականացման և առաջնային գծի առողջապահության մասնագետների վերապատրաստման գործում:
