Ըստ էության, մեր հանրության մի մեծ հատված հիասթափված է «բարեկամ» Արևմուտքից: Եթե փորձենք բացել փակագծերը, ապա Արևմուտքը մեր մեծ բարեկամ Ֆրանսիան է, ԱՄՆ-ը, Գերմանիան, ԵՄ անդամ մի շարք այլ երկրներ, որոնց բոլորին, չգիտեմ, թե որ մեղքիս համար բարեկամ ենք համարում և այլն:

Նեղացվածության հիմնական պատճառը պայմանավորված է նրանով, որ «քաղաքակիրթ» ու «բարեկամ» Եվրոպան 44-օրյա  պատերազմի ժամանակ ոչ միայն չաջակցեց մեզ, այլ անգամ չդատապարտեց ադրբեջանական ագրեսիան, երբ կասետային ռումբերը պարպում էին Ստեփանակերտում, իսկ ուկրաինական ֆոսֆորը թափվում էր Մարտակերտի ու Քաշաթաղի անտառներում։ Այնինչ այսօր` ի նպաստ Ուկրաինայի նրանք դատապարտում են  Ռուսաստանի գործողությունները:

Ըստ էության, Եվրոպան տեսնում էր, թե պատերազմի ժամանակ և վերջին երեք տարում ինչպիսի անհասկանալի, երկակի ու բազմակի քաղաքականություն էր վարում ՀՀ-ում իշխանությունը զավթած խունտան`մե՛կ իրենց հետ սիրախաղի մեջ մտնելով, մե՛կ Ռուսաստանի քմահաճույքները կատարելով:

Կա նաև մի կարևոր հանգամանք ևս. ի՞նչ շահ ունի Եվրոպան մեզանից, օրինակ՝ Ադրբեջանից  գազ են ստանում, ՀՀ-ից հնչում է միայն հավատարմության սուտ խոստումներ և երկակի խաղեր: Իսկ գուցե Արևմուտքը պետք է մեզանից նեղանա` իրենից նեղանալու և իրեն մեղադրելու համար: Միանշանակ է, որ Արևմուտք ասվածը մարդկային, հումանիստական առումով իսկապես երկակի ստանդարտներ է կիրառում, երբ Արցախում ադրբեջանական հրթիռներից անմեղ մարդիկ էին զոհվում, անգամ մի ձևական ցավակցական խոսք չհնչեց եվրոպական «բարձր» ամբիոնից, իսկ Ուկրաինայի զոհերի համար համաշխարհային ողբ է բարձրացնում ու ստիպում, որ բոլորը իր հետ հավասար ողբան:

Հերթական անգամ բախվում ենք հայտնի այն ճշմարտությանը, որ չկան հավերժ բարեկամներ, կան հավերժ շահեր։ Հերթական անգամ մենք համոզվում ենք, որ մենք պարտավոր ենք ուժեղ լինել, այլապես կկորչենք քաղաքական քարտեզի վրա, եթե շարունակենք ձեռքներս պարզել և ողորմություն խնդրել «մեծ տերություններից»։ Միանշանակ է, որ անցել է «թղթե շերեփի» ժամանակաշրջանը, և ամեն ուր և բոլոր հարցերը լուծվում են երկաթե մահակով, կամ ինքնաձիգով, տեղ կա՝ անգամ հրթիռով, մնացածը մեկնաբանության հարց է։
