«Բաց աշխարհ» ծրագրի շրջանակներում Վաշինգթոնում հանդիպումներ ենք ունեցել ԱՄՆ Կոնգրեսի Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի անդամներ, Կոնգրեսի Հայկական հարցերով հանձնախմբի համանախագահներ Ֆրենկ Փալոնի և Ջեքի Սփիրի, կոնգրեսականներ Քեթրին Քլարքի և ժողովրդավարական գործընկերության հանձնախմբի համանախագահ Դեյվիդ Փրայսի հետ:
Ներկայացրել ենք Արցախում ստեղծված հումանիտար ճգնաժամը, Ադրբեջանի շարունակական ագրեսիվ և ռազմատենչ քաղաքականությունը, այդ թվում` Փարուխ գյուղի գրավումը և Խրամոթի բնակիչների ահաբեկումը, ինչպես նաև Ադրբեջանի կողմից օկուպացված տարածքներում հայկական պատմամշակութային արժեքների ոչնչացման հստակ փաստեր:
Շեշտել ենք, որ Արցախի հիմնախնդրի կարգավորման հիմքում պետք է ընկած լինի ազգերի ինքնորոշման իրավունքի իրացումը և, որ Արցախը որևէ կարգավիճակում չի կարող լինել Ադրբեջանի կազմում, հակառակ դեպքում մենք ականատեսն ենք լինելու Ադրբեջանի կողմից էթնիկ զտման քաղաքականության իրականացմանը և Արցախի վերջնական հայաթափմանը: Եվ որ 21-րդ դարում ցեղասպանության վտանգն առկախված է արդեն արցախահայության գլխին:
Խոսել եմ նաև Հայաստանի Հանրապետության սուվերեն տարածք Ադրբեջանի զինված ուժերի ներխուժման, օկուպացման և մասնավորապես Սյունիքի նկատմամբ Ադրբեջանի տարածքային նկրտումների վերաբերյալ:
Շնորհակալություն ենք հայտնել` կոնգրեսականներին հայ ժողովրդի կողքին լինելու, պարբերաբար Արցախ այցելելու և Ադրբեջանի ագրեսիվ քաղաքականությունը դատապարտելու համար:
