Իտալիան տեղյակ է Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության երկարաժամկետ հետևանքների և խաղաղ բնակչության կրած տառապանքների մասին: «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ այդ մասին Հայաստանի արտգործնախարարի հետ հանդիպումից հետո հայտարարեց Իտալիայի արտաքին գործերի և միջազգային համագործակցության նախարար Լուիջի դի Մայոն:

Նախարարը վերահաստատեց իր երկրի խորը համերաշխությունը հակամարտության բազմաթիվ զոհերին՝ ընդգծելով, որ Իտալիան պատրաստակամ է աջակցելու քաղաքացիական բնակչությանը:

«Մենք դրական ենք վերաբերվում Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի բարձր մակարդակի ուղիղ շփումներին և վճռականորեն աջակցելու ենք խաղաղ, համապարփակ և կայուն լուծմանը՝ լուծում, որը երաշխավորում է խաղաղության և կայունության հեռանկարը կովկասյան ողջ տարածաշրջանում, որն իսկապես ռազմավարական խաչմերուկ է ողջ Եվրոպայի համար»,- հայտարարեց Իտալիայի ԱԳՆ ղեկավարը:

Այս համատեքստում, ըստ Լուիջի դի Մայոյի, Իտալիան մեծ կարևորություն է տալիս Հայաստան-Եվրամիություն հարաբերությունների զարգացմանը:

«Համապարփակ և ընդլայնված գործընկերության մասին նոր համաձայնագիրը արժեքավոր հնարավորություն է Բրյուսելի և Երևանի միջև համագործակցությունն ամրապնդելու համար: Այդ պատճառով մենք աջակցում ենք այն հավակնոտ ֆինանսական միջոցառումներին, որոնք Եվրամիությունը առաջարկել է՝ խթանելու օրենքի գերակայությունը, բարեփոխումները և նպաստելու երկրում սոցիալ-տնտեսական աճին», - հավելեց Իտալիայի արտգործնախարարը:

Հայաստանի ԱԳ նախարար Արարատ Միրզոյանը իր իտալացի գործընկերոջ հետ հանդիպմանը վերահաստատել է Հայաստանի Հանրապետության պատրաստակամությունը շարունակելու Ադրբեջանի հետ բանակցությունները՝ ուղղված խաղաղության պայմանագրի կնքմանը ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի եռանախագահության հովանու ներքո: Նաև տեղեկացրել է, որ Ադրբեջանը առաջարկներ է փոխանցել հայկական կողմին երկկողմ հարաբերությունների կարգավորման վերաբերյալ, որոնք Հայաստանը համարել է ընդունելի, բայց ոչ ամբողջական: Այդ պատճառով հայկական կողմը լրացրել է Բաքվի առաջարկները իր առաջարկներով: Արարատ Միրզոյանի խոսքով՝ Հայաստանի համար սկզբունքային է Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի ժողովրդի իրավունքների և Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի կարգավիճակի հարցը:

Իտալիայի արտաքին գործերի և միջազգային համագործակցության նախարար Լուիջի դի Մայոն ապրիլի 2-3-ը աշխատանքային այցով ժամանել է Հայաստան: Ապրիլի 3-ի առավոտյան նախարարը իրեն ուղեկցող պատվիրակության հետ միասին այցելեց Հայոց ցեղասպանության զոհերի հուշահամալիր: Այնուհետև ԱԳՆ-ում տեղի ունեցավ Հայաստանի և Իտալիայի ԱԳ նախարարների հանդիպումը, որին հետևեցին մամուլի համար հայտարարությունները: Այցի շրջանակներում Լուիջի դի Մայոն հանդիպումներ
