Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Երկրորդ Ծայրագույն Պատրիարք և Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնում հյուրընկալել է պաշտոնական այցով Հայաստանում գտնվող Վրաստանի խորհրդարանի նախագահ Շալվա Պապուաշվիլիի գլխավորած պատվիրակությանը։

Ողջունելով խորհրդարանի նախագահի այցը Հայաստան և Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածին` Նորին Սրբությունը կարևորել է նման փոխայցելությունները և երկու երկրների միջև ընդլայնվող գործակցությունը` այն համահունչ նկատելով ժողովուրդների դարավոր բարեկամությանը:

Նորին Սրբությունը, անդրադառնալով անկախության տարիներին երկու երկրների միջև հաստատված սերտ հարաբերություններին, նկատել է, որ հայ և վրաց ժողովուրդները միասնաբար հաղթահարել են բազմաթիվ դժվարություններ՝ պահպանելու իրենց ազգային ինքնությունը և հոգևոր արժեքները:

Անդրադառնալով հայ և վրաց ժողովուրդների առջև ծառացած մարտահրավերներին և տարածաշրջանում տիրող բարդ իրավիճակին՝ Հայոց Հայրապետն ընդգծել է, որ երկու երկրները անկախ իրենց շահերից և դիրքորոշումներից պետք է զորավիգ լինեն միմյանց հանուն հավատակից եղբայր ժողովուրդների բարօրության և անվտանգության։

Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը, ի դեմս պարոն Պապուաշվիլիի, իր երախտագիտությունն է հայտնել վրաց իշխանություններին հայ համայնքի նկատմամբ հոգատար վերաբերմունքի, Նորաշենի Սուրբ Աստվածածին և Սուրբ Նշան եկեղեցիների ամրակայման աշխատանքների, ինչպես նաև ռազմագերիների վերադարձման, տարածաշրջանում կայունության ու խաղաղության հաստատման ուղղությամբ գործադրած միջնորդական ջանքերի համար:

Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը նաև իր եղբայրական ողջույններն ու բարեմաղթանքներն է փոխանցել Վրաց Ուղղափառ Եկեղեցու պետ Համայն Վրաստանի Իլյա Բ Կաթողիկոս-Պատրիարքին:

Իր հերթին Վրաստանի խորհրդարանի նախագահ Շալվա Պապուաշվիլին, անդրադառնալով տարածաշրջանում տիրող իրավիճակին, նշել է, որ խաղաղությունն այլընտրանք չունի և այն երկու երկրների զարգացման ամենակարևոր գրավականն է: Պարոն Պապուաշվիլին նաև գոհունակությամբ խոսել է այցի դրական արդյունքներից, երկու երկրների միջև առկա փոխգործակցության և դրա զարգացման հեռանկարների մասին՝ տեղեկացնելով այդ ուղղությամբ ձեռնարկվելիք միջոցառումների վերաբերյալ: Վրաստանի խորհրդարանի նախագահը ևս կարևորել է երկու ժողովուրդների միջև հարաբերությունների առավել սերտացումը։

Զրույցի ընթացքում Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը նաև իր մտահոգություններն է հայտնել Ադրբեջանի վերահսկողության ներքո հայտնված տարածքներում հայկական հոգևոր-մշակութային ժառանգության ոչնչացման և յուրացման քաղաքականության, Արցախի ու Հայաստանի նկատմամբ շարունակվող ոտնձգությունների կապակցությամբ։
