Մանկուց երազում էի դերասանուհի դառնալ։ Ընտանիքում ծնողներս համաձայն չէին։ Դեռ փոքրուց ասմունքում էի, հավանում էին։ Միշտ բեմերում էի լինում, բեմից հեռու չէի։ Բայց այնպիսի մի հրաշք կատարվեց, որ ավարտելուց հետո, երբ եկա գյուղ, հայրիկիս խնդրեցի, որ Նոյեմբերյանի կամ Բերդավանի մշակույթի տներում, որտեղ հնարավոր լինի, ինձ համար աշխատանք գտնի։ Ասացի, որ պարտադիր չի դերասանուհի դառնամ, բայց գոնե մշակույթին մոտ լինեմ։ Հայրս չմերժեց։ Այդ ժամանակ մեր մշակույթի բաժնի վարիչը Արծրուն Հարությունյանն էր։ Անհույս գնացի, խնդրեցի, որ եթե հանկարծ աշխատանքի տեղ լինի ասեն։

Օրերից մի օր զանգեց ընկեր Հարությունյանը և ասաց, որ գնամ մշակույթի կենտրոն արդեն աշխատելու։ Ուրախությանս չափ չկար, չէի պատկերացնում՝ ինչ պիտի աշխատեմ։ Պարզվեց՝ մեթոդիստ եմ լինելու։ Նոյեմբերյանի մշակույթի տանը գործում էր թատրոն, ունեին ժողգործիքների խումբ, պարերի ու երգերի խմբեր. Կյանքը շատ ուրախ էր անցնում, ժողովուրդը աշխույժ էր, ամեն ինչ հետաքրքիր էր այն ժամանակ։

Այդպես 1991 թվականին եկա աշխատելու ու մինչ օրս նույն եռանդով ու մեծ սիրով աշխատում եմ։ Առաջին ներկայացումը, որը այստեղ խաղացել եմ, Ստախոս «կանայք»-ն է եղել ։ Այդ ժամանակ Երևանից ռեժիսորներ էին ուղարկում մեզ մոտ աշխատելու համար. առաջին ռեժիսորս եղել է Մհեր Նահապետյանը։ Հիմա նա հայտնի դերասան է, բոլորը ճանաչում են։

Պատկերացրեք շատ հաջողված ներկայացում եղավ։ Նշեմ, որ հիմնականում ոչ պրոֆեսիանալ դերասաններ էինք, բայց այնպես էինք խաղում, որ բոլորին թվում էր պրոֆեսիոնալներ ենք։ Հիանալի խումբ ունեինք։ Ու այդպես աատիճանաբար բեմը դարձավ իմը։ Ճիշտ է, դեռ դերասանուհի չէի, բայց ինձ արդեն դերասանուհի էի զգում։ Մոտ 30-ից ավել ներկայացումների մեջ եմ խաղացել և հիմնականում բոլորը գլխավոր դերեր։

Ամեն ներկայացման ժամանակ մի ուրիշ աշխարհ էի ընկնում։ Ես աշխատել եմ տարբեր ռեժիսորների հետ Մհեր Նահապետյան, Նարինե Ավագյան, Արման Տեր-Արսենյան, Սասուն Մուրադյան, Սամվել Բեգլարյան։ Այն ներկայացումներում, որտեղ խաղացել եմ, բոլոր դերերս իմն էին, բոլորի մեջ ես ինձ լավ էի զգում, այսինքն կերպարս զգում էի, մտնում էի դերի մեջ, մտածում, որ ես հենց ինքն եմ։ Մեր ներկայացումներով մենք հաճախ էինք մասնակցում «Թատերական Լոռի» փառատոնին։ Երեք անգամ արդեն մասնակցել ենք և երեքից էլ բերել ենք բարձրագույն մրցանակներ (լավագույն կին դերասան, լավագույն ռեժիսոր, լավագույն սցենար, լավագույն դերակատարում)։

Երկու տարի առաջ ես արժանացա մշակույթի նախարարության ոսկե մեդալի։ Ի վերջո, նպատակ դարձած երազանքս իրագործվեց, շնորհակալ եմ բոլոր նրանց ովքեր միշտ իմ ուժերին հավատացել ու իմ կողքին են եղել։
