Պենտագոնի ղեկավար Լլոյդ Օսթինը տեղափոխվել է Ուոլթեր Ռիդի անվան բանակային բժշկական կենտրոնի ինտենսիվ թերապիայի բաժանմունք։ Ինչպես նշված է ԲԿ-ի հայտարարության մեջ, ԱՄՆ պաշտպանության նախարարը հսկողության տակ է այն բանից հետո, ինչ ավելի վաղ հոպիտալացվել էր միզապարկի հետ կապված խնդիրների մասին հուշող ախտանշաններով։

Հոսպիտալացումից հետո Օսթինն իր լիազորությունները փոխանցել էր պաշտպանության փոխնախարարին։ Պենտագոնի ղեկավարը շարունակում է մնալ հիվանդանոցում հետագա հետազոտությունների համար։ Ինչպես հայտնել են ԱՄՆ ռազմական գերատեսչությունից, իրավիճակի մասին տեղեկացվել են Սպիտակ տունը, Կոնգրեսն ու շտաբների պետերի կոմիտեի ղեկավարը։

Ինչպես նշված է ԲԿ-ի հաղորդագրության մեջ, Օսթինը ինտենսիվ թերապիայի բաժանմունք է տեղափոխվել փետրվարի 11-ի երեկոյան մի շարք հետազոտություններից հետո։ Առայժմ հայտնի չէ՝ որքան ժամանակ Օսթինը կմնա հիվանդանոցում, սակայն այժմ նա գտնվում է խիստ հսկողության տակ։

Այնուամենայնիվ, ակնկալվում է, որ միզապարկի հետ կապված ներկայիս խնդիրը չի ազդի նրա հետագա լիարժեք ապաքինման վրա։

ԱՄՆ պաշտպանության նախարարը հոսպիտալացվել է հունվարի 1-ին և դուրս գրվել հունվարի 15-ին։ Օսթինի հոսպիտալացման ու շագանակագեղձի քաղցկեղով հիվանդ լինելու մասին լուրերը մի քանի օր գաղտնի էին պահվել հանրությունից, ինչի հետևանքով նա լուրջ քննադատությունների էր ենթարկվել։ Ավելի ուշ Օսթինը վստահեցրել էր, որ իր առողջական վիճակը բարելավվում է՝ միաժամանակ խոստովանելով, որ կարող էր հանրությանն ավելի պատշաճ ձևով տեղեկացնել իր առողջական խնդիրների մասին։

Նշենք, որ Պենտագոնի ղեկավարը 70 տարեկան է։ Նա ԱՄՆ ռազմական գերատեսչությունը ղեկավարում է 2021 թվականի հունվարից։
