COVID-19-ի դասերը կարող են մոռացված լինել, քանի որ աշխարհի ուշադրությունն այժմ կենտրոնացած է այլ ճգնաժամերի վրա. աշխարհը պատրաստ չէ նոր համավարակի. նման կարծիք է հայտնել Առողջապահության համաշխարհային կազմակերպության (ԱՀԿ) գլխավոր տնօրեն Թեդրոս Ադհանոմ Ղեբրեյեսուսը, գրում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:

Նա հայտարարել է, որ մարդկությունը վաղ թե ուշ կբախվի նոր անհայտ «X հիվանդությանը», որին պետք է պատրաստվել հիմա։

«Այն ցավալի դասերը, որոնք մենք քաղել ենք COVID-19 համավարակից, մոռացվելու վտանգի տակ են, քանի որ ուշադրությունը շեղվում է աշխարհի առջև ծառացած բազմաթիվ այլ ճգնաժամերի վրա», - ասել է Ղեբրեյեսուսը ՝ զգուշացնելով, որ եթե այս դասերին ուշադրություն չդարձնենք, «հաջորդ անգամ մարդկությունը թանկ կվճարի»:

Նրա խոսքով՝ հարցն այն չէ, թե նոր համավարակ կբռնկվի՞, թե՞ ոչ, այլ այն, թե երբ դա տեղի կունենա։

«Դատելով տիրող իրավիճակից՝ աշխարհը դեռ պատրաստ չէ հաջորդ X հիվանդությանը և հաջորդ համավարակին: Եթե դա տեղի ունենա վաղը, աշխարհը կբախվի նույն խնդիրներին, որոնց մենք բախվեցինք COVID-19-ի հետ կապված», - ասել է պաշտոնյան:

«Նոր համավարակը կարող է առաջանալ գրիպի վիրուսից, կամ նոր կորոնավիրուսից, կամ նոր պաթոգենից, որի մասին մենք նույնիսկ չգիտենք:

Ղեբրեյեսուսը հիշեցրել է, որ «X հիվանդություն» տերմինն առաջին անգամ ԱՀԿ-ի կողմից օգտագործվել է 2018 թվականին՝ նշելու մի հիվանդություն, որի մասին մասնագետները ոչինչ չգիտեն, բայց որին կարելի է պատրաստվել։

«COVID-19-ը նույնպես X հիվանդությունն էր՝ նոր պաթոգեն, որն առաջացնում է նոր հիվանդություն»,- բացատրել է ԱՀԿ-ի ղեկավարը՝ վստահություն հայտնելով, որ աշխարհը դեռ կբախվի «X հիվանդության, Y հիվանդության կամ Z հիվանդության»։
