ԱՄՆ իշխանություններն ուշադիր հետևում են, թե ինչպես է Իրանը հաղթահարում երկրի նախագահ Էբրահիմ Ռաիսիի մահից հետո առաջացած ճգնաժամը, գրում է Politico-ն՝ հղում անելով աղբյուրներին։

Հրատարակության համաձայն՝ Ջո Բայդենի վարչակազմը Թեհրանի տարածաշրջանային քաղաքականության հարցում էական փոփոխություններ չի սպասում մինչև պետության նոր ղեկավարի նշանակումը, սակայն զգուշանում է էսկալացիայի ռիսկերից։ 

Ըստ Politico-ի զրուցակիցների՝ Սպիտակ տունը մտավախություն ունի, որ Իրանը կարող է ԱՄՆ-ին կամ Իսրայելին մեղադրել Էբրահիմ Ռաիսիի մահվան համար։ Նման քննարկումները, ըստ աղբյուրներից մեկի, սկսվել են կործանված նախագահական ուղղաթիռի երկարատև որոնումների ֆոնին։ ԱՄՆ պաշտոնյաները կիրակի անհանգստությամբ սպասում էին անհետացած ուղղաթիռի որոնողական աշխատանքների թարմացումներին և ժամերով մտածում էին, թե ինչպես կարող է վթարը փոխել Մերձավոր Արևելքի դինամիկան: Քանի որ որոնումները ձգվել են, ԱՄՆ պաշտոնյաները սպասում էին՝ լսելու՝ ում Իրանը կարող է մեղադրել վթարի համար: Մտավախություն կար, որ Թեհրանը կարող էր պնդել, որ Իսրայելը և ԱՄՆ-ն են կանխամտածված շահագործումից հանել նախագահի ուղղաթիռը: Սակայն, ըստ հետախուզական տվյալների, վթարի պատճառը վատ եղանակն է եղել։

«Այդ պահին երրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմի հնարավոր բռնկման հարցն այլևս խենթություն չէր թվում», - պատմել է զրուցակիցներից մեկը։

Politico-ն նշում է նաև, որ Իրանն օգնություն է խնդրել ԱՄՆ-ից՝ կործանված ուղղաթիռի բեկորները գտնելու համար։ ԱՄՆ Պետդեպարտամենտը երկուշաբթի ցավակցություն է հայտնել Թեհրանին՝ նախագահի մահվան կապակցությամբ։ Պենտագոնի ղեկավար Լլոյդ Օսթինը մայիսի 20-ին կայացած մամուլի ասուլիսի ժամանակ ասել է, որ ԱՄՆ-ն աղետի հետ կապ չունի։

Իրանի նախագահ Էբրահիմ Ռաիսիին տեղափոխող ուղղաթիռը կործանվել է երկրի հյուսիս-արևմուտքում՝ Ադրբեջանի հետ սահմանից 30 կմ հեռավորության վրա։ Ավիաաղետի հետևանքով զոհվել է նաև արտաքին գործերի նախարար Հոսեյն Ամիր Աբդոլլահիանը:Ռաիսիի հուղարկավորությունը տեղի կունենա մայիսի 23-ին։
