Հայաստանում և նրա շուրջ տեղի ունեցող իրավիճակը Կարապետյանը կայուն ծանր է գնահատում: «Դա շարունակվում է բավականին երկար ժամանակ: Սա շատ է հիշեցնում իրավիճակն Ուկրաինայում: Չեմ կարծում, որ հիմա պետք է խոսեմ Ուկրաինայի մասին, բայց նկատի ունենք համակարգը, երբ դրսից ինչ-որ մեկն աշխատում է: Սպառնալիքները, որոնք կան Հայաստանում և նրա շուրջ, ստեղծված են արհեստական ձևով: Տարածաշրջան փորձում են ներխուժել արևմտյան ուժերը, ի դեմս ԱՄՆ-ի, նրանք փորձում են վերաձևակերպել տարածաշրջանը, այսինքն՝ բաժանել այն նորովի, ստեղծել այնտեղ իրենց սատելիտներին, որոնք ապագայում, ամենայն հավանականությամբ, կուղղեն Ռուսաստանի դեմ: Այս կերպ հարցեր և խնդիրներ կստեղծեն Ռուսաստանի հարավային սահմանին: Ցավոք, Հայաստանի իշխանությունները, ի դեմս վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի, կարծես մարիոնետ լինեն Արևմուտքի ձեռքում: Նա կատարում է նրանց առաջադրանքները, ամբողջովին կորցնելով իր ազգային տեսքը, արժանապատվությունը, անձնականն այդ թվում, հարց է՝ նա հա՞յ է, թե՞ ոչ: Նա Հայաստանի շուրջ այնպիսի իրավիճակ է ստեղծել, որ մեր թշնամիներն ավելանում են, բարեկամները՝ նվազում: Նման իրավիճակում կա վտանգ ազգային անվտանգության համար, և ընդհանրապես, առկա է պետականությունը կորցնելու վտանգ»,-նշել է Կարապետյանը:
