Սյունիք այցելության օրերին Առողջապահության նախարար Անահիտ Ավանեսյանը, ի թիվս մարզի մյուս բժշկական հաստատությունների, եղել է նաեւ Մեղրիի բժշկական կենտրոնում, ծանոթացել նոր ներդրված մի շարք ծրագրերի, այդ թվում` լսողության նորածնային սկրինինգի եւ  մանկական վերականգնողական կենտրոնի ընթացիկ աշխատանքներին: Այս երկու նախագծերն իրականացվել են «Արաբկիր» բժշկական համալիրի եւ գործընկերների ջանքերով, NEWS.am Medicine–ին հայտնեցին «Արաբկիր» բժշկական համալիրից։

Նախարարի այցի օրը Մեղրիի ծննդատանը երեք երեխա էր լույս աշխարհ եկել: Այսպիսի «առատություն» այստեղ հաճախ չի լինում: Մասնագետների խոսքով` ծառայությունների բարելավումը նպաստում է ընտանիքների` հենց Մեղրիում իրենց փոքրիկին ունենալու ցանկությանը: Այդ ծառայություններից մեկն էլ լսողության նորածնային սկինինգն է, որ մինչեւ հիմա նորածին մեղրեցիների համար իրականացվում էր Կապանում: Այժմ դա կկատարվի հենց տեղում. ծննդատունն արդեն նորածնային սկրինինգի սարք ունի, որով հնարավոր կլինի իրականացնել հետազոտության առաջին եւ երկրորդ փուլերը, եւ միայն երրորդ փուլի համար անհրաժեշտ կլինի փոքրիկին Երեւան` մանսագիտացված կենտրոն ուղարկել: Առաջիկայում այդ սարքով կհետազոտվեն Մեղրիում ապրող մինչեւ 1 տարեկան բոլոր երեխաները: Լսողության նորածնային սկրինինգը Մեղրիում  ներդնելու գործը «Արաբկիր» բժշակական համալիրն իրականացրել է Բոստոնի հայ բժիշկների միության եւ «Աֆեյան» հիմնադրամի աջակցությամբ:

Մանկական վերականգնողական նորաբաց կենտրոնի նպատակը եւս ծառայություններն ավելի մատչելի եւ հասանալի դարձնելն է տեղի բնակչության համար: Կենտրոնը հագեցած է անհրաժեշտ գույքով եւ սարքերով` ապահովելու վերականգնողական թերապիայի կարիք ունեցող երեխաների լիարժեքորեն սպասարկումը:  Վերակառուցման եւ վերանորոգման աշխատաքներն իրականացվել են Զանգեզուրի պղնձամոլիբդենային կոմբինատի եւ «ՋԻԷՆՍԻ Ալֆա» ընկերության աջակցությամբ, իսկ մասնագետների կրթության եւ վերապատրաստման ծախսերը հոգացել են Բոստոնի հայ բժիշկների միությունն ու «Աֆեյան» հիմնադրամը: Օգոստոսի 1-ից կենտրոնը կսկսի ընդունել առաջին երեխաներին: Կենտրոնում աշխատելու է մասնագիտական թիմ` կինեզիոթերապիստ, էրգոթերապիստ, հատուկ մանկավարժ, սուրդոմանկավարժ, լոգոպեդ` բժիշկ-վերականգնողաբանի հսկողությամբ: Կենտրոնի գործունեության ֆինանսավարումը մինչեւ 2024թ-ի դեկտեմբերի 31-ը նույնպես կիրականացվի «Աֆեյան» հիմնադրամի միջոցներով:
